Not news to most of us here: fleets have been cut faster than demand has fallen. If you haven't priced a car yet this year, be prepared to pay more. Also has some tips for getting better deals.

I just got back last weekend, this trip was a real game with the car. Originally practically all codes were over $300 for 8 days. My corporate rate was $240 (incl tax) so I booked that. When it got down to 2 or 3 weeks before, the rates dropped like a rock. I ended up with $150 (incl tax) with National, Emerald Aisle code & $35 coupon. The garage was loaded when I got there. So hold onto home, your rates may drop!
