Hi all,

We just decided to plan a brief (and crazy) trip 12/29-1/1 as DH has a meeting at the Swan 1/2. We will be off property (free!) with Marriott points so I know our FPs will be very limited. We were thinking MK on 12/30 and AK on 12/31. We are early morning people (only in WDW;) and I can't see us doing 15 hrs in any park. Any ideas for NYE with a 15 yo and 18 yo? Epcot and the partying is not ideal Can we possibly watch a fireworks show from the Boardwalk or one of the resorts? Any suggestions are appreciated!

You could watch the MK fireworks from the California Grill at the Contemporary. If you're there during the show lights are dimmed and music piped in. If your dinner is before save your receipt to be allowed to return and watch from the lounge or observation deck.

California Grill

Better grab ADR in early July though as I'm sure they'll go quick at 180 days.

That's a great idea! Do you know what time fireworks are? Just close to midnight or any earlier?

I may have spoke too soon. Went out to Deb's All Ears and see that last year California Grill had a special 7:30 to midnight Dinner Jacket party for $650. But also see all the happenings and think it will be useful to you.

Are you staying at the Swan?

I would probably go to the Boardwalk (maybe get a reservation at one of the restaurants - probably easiest to get an ADR at a Swan/Dolphin restaurant as you can call the restaurants directly), watch the evening entertainment and try to watch the fireworks from the IG bridge. I'm sure it will be very crowded.

If you are willing to spend the money, perhaps see if you can get a reservation for a fireworks cruise?

$650 is a little outside the family budget, unless we rethink the college thing. Thank you so much for the info and the link!!

We are not staying at the Swan as we have Marriott points for 3 free nights:) Thank you for the ideas!!
