NYE Western Cruise 2008 - New Thread

We got ours as soon as they were out, direct from Columbus to MCO, for $265, I was ecstatic on the price - as everywhere else was over $400. What airport will you fly from? I am concerned, as I just checked and Columbus is not showing any direct flights to MCO, hope that is just because they are all sold out. I have not heard anything from Delta.

Marla--stay safe with the storms. I've seen the radar and weather reports on tv today. I'm north, close to Lake Erie. We just had light rain and clouds all day. The sun is trying to come out now.

Did everyone get their flights? Were they expensive for you? I've been watching since they came out and booked them for $340 pp round trip in the beginning of April. They've been between $450 and $520 since I booked them.

We got ours in Feb for $332 RT from Monterey CA to San Francisco (1/2 flt) then nonstop to MCO....todays rates are well over $500

yes we are going united....i forget what airline Rus & Chel are using (Delta maybe)...they got theirs in April for just a little more than we paid, they are flying from Oakland to MCO....i don't mind Monterey at all...the security there is usually less than 10-15 ppl

I AM STILL hoping you go!!!! i won't give up on you OR Kaz or Colleen!!!!

We got our flights, a little more than $500 each, which I never dreamed would get that high. But at least it's done, with great times, on Jetblue.

We joined this thread rather late. I have been reading back posts trying to catch up. I know Nan's group is leaning toward not going on the cruise. Is there anyone else that is on the roster that has decided not to cruise?

We fly non-stop out of Cleveland on Continental.

My sister was going on this cruise but is canceling tomorrow. Hopefully the TA can book the room for our friends. The only problem is our friends want an inside stateroom and my sister has a veranda. Maybe she can change rooms when one becomes available. The TA doesn't even know if she will be able to give the room to our friends since it is sold out.

Thanks for the info, it helps to get everyone straight in my mind. There are a lot of pages to look through, I think this thread may have been started before the internet was invented. When I first looked I thought maybe it was a list of pilgrims that sailed on the Mayflower.

My TA said that is what usually happens(especially since the cruise is sold out). She was going to try to "work the system", but told us not to get our hopes up. She's very good. Always gets me the rooms I want. I haven't heard anything from our friends, so maybe she couldn't do it. Doesn't hurt to try though.

Here is a link that gives a preview. You actually have to download Google Earth (you need the most current version). It is a bit of a resource hog to run but very cool.

Good morning!

I had such a busy weekend, with my brother and his family being here. The baby is awesome, such a happy baby, always smiling. This morning they left the baby and went to stand outside the Today Show. I was trying to see them on TV, but there are always so many people there in the crowd. My SIL is starstruck, so she wants to go looking for celebrities. Monday we're all going to the American Girl store for dinner, which my two nieces are ecstatic about.

Chad leaves for Italy on Friday, and Jesse will be taking over his weekend job at our parish rectory.

And to make things more exciting, we're expecting a heatwave this week...it's supposed to go up to 96! My electric bill is going to go through the roof with the air conditioning!
