supposed to be a little cooler....it's noon now & not too terribly hot (yet)....but who knows what the weather will do from here....

Thanks! He looks good in a tux so definitely going to rent one for NY!!! he's not home from his friends house yet..they had a school project to work on today....but i think it was okay...he sent me a txt at midnight - they all went for pizza afterwards....

soooo - it wasn't really too much cooler today - i went out shopping today & it was 102 F - uggghhhh - it's 5 now & is till 98 - too hot for me. DH & I were playing Guitar Hero for awhile...i'm just really getting the hang of it & he was showing off - not nearly as good as Ryan tho - Ry does the "Hard" version & hits pretty much 100% of the notes....

Tig, I saw your post on your Threadkillers thread about Adrian moving out. The Time in a Bottle thing you said really tugged at my heart. How does Brittany feel about it? Whenever I hear Bob Dylan's song The Times They Are A-Changin', God I get a lump in my throat remembering that my kids will be out and on their own one day. But I know you're proud of him for doing this, and I'm sure he knows he can come back home if it doesn't work out. At least he won't be too far away. When Chad leaves, I have a feeling it's going to be to another state or even another country because of the kind of job he's going to do. It's tough being parents.

I've been getting those lumps for years....

When he went from baby to boy. When he started kindergarden. When he had his first communion. Watching him play sports. Going from cub scout to boy scout. Confirmation, graduation, First girlfriend, first dances, first love, and of course every time we go to Disney together.

He's grown into a fine young man, but IMHO he needs this. He's saying he'll try the summer away. He's never "dormed" at college so this is his first opp to be really on his own.

Brittany got her first tattoo yesterday!

She's got two huge stars on the front of her just under the shoulderblades. She says it's the start of her "chest piece." Apparantly the next step is lyrics in between the stars from a John Lennon song. (Don't ask me what song cause I was still reeling from the words chest piece

ohhh Colleen i know what those 'lumps' are like for sure!!!! & OMG i almost fainted too...'chest piece'.... i'm not big on tattoos...but what can you do. I can tell her about my friend who was an eagle tattoo'd across her chest...it's beautiful artwork, but at her age now & for the last 10-15 years she wished she hadn't had it done...too hard to remove. I saw a post on the DCL POTD thread of an ankle with the DCL logo & thought hummmm....i could do a disney tattoo...but in the end i won't - although i was thinking a 'henna' temp would be WAYYYYYYY cool for the cruise.

I finally found the perfect Mickey tattoo template!

It's on the Mickey mug the kid's got me for Christmas...

I am going to get very creative on this -

My "template" is going to help me make a Minnie to go with my Mickey, then, I'm going to downsize the template to make a smaller Mickey and Minnie, then, I'll have all four put on me sitting side by side representing my little family of four.

That's not too complicated is it?

If my templates come out as clear as I hope them to be you should be able to use them to get your henna done later...maybe take it with you, it'll look like a coloring book page when I am done with it.

Hello everyone!

We had an absolutely fantastic time in WDW and on the first Double Dip of 2008! Wilderness Lodge was beautiful - suffice to say, I now have a new fave resort and I never thought anywhere could take the Poly's place! We also had a lot of fun surprising Sophie - firstly with the arrival of her father and secondly with the Roy O Disney suite! She responded to both shocks with suitably shrill screams. Sooo much more to tell but not sure when I'll get around to writing a trip report as I've managed to pick up a cold/flu bug on the return flight and feeling rather yukky at the moment...

I'm also having to cancel our August 2009 cruise - seems to be something of a trend with us lately. Earlier this year, DH was asked to chair a global conference in August 2008 but refused due to our 'fixed-in-stone' vacation plans and his overwhelming 'my-wife-will-kill-me-if-I-mess-this-up' survival instincts! Anyway, he's now been asked to do it in August 2009 and can't turn the offer down a second time so we're having to cancel our trip. I am disappointed but I've learnt to be philosophical about these things so I'm just going to get DU to transfer the booking as soon as some 2010 dates are released...

Loving the tattoo designs, Tigg! Sophie has a very large anchor on her left shoulder which she had done at 18. She regularly talks about having it embellished/enlarged but so far hasn't followed thro'... I'd love a discreet tattoo myself BUT my crazazy skin would probably react badly and I'd just end up with a new patch, albeit interestingly shaped, of psoriasis...

Kaz....WELCOME HOME!!!! I didn't know you were in the Roy suite! Awesome huh? My friend (that i make albums for) usually has the Roy or Walt suite...so i've only seen them thru her photos. VERY VERY cool!!! Hope you feel better SOON!!!!! we need some photos~and so sad to hear about your August 09 cancellations. but maybe we can all get together in '10 - i know i'll be more than ready for another trip on the Magic!!!
