Aisling, how's Friday the 16th for you?

I'll mark my calendar!:thumbsup2

DS & I arrive evening of 26th; friends Chel & Rus arriving late 12/25. We are staying at the Embassy Suites & driving to Port early the 27th.

We're going down on Christmas morning. We planned on the 26th, but the airfare was double that day. It'll actually cost less to go the day earlier, stay two nights at Pop, and then go to the port on the morning of the 27th. Chad and Louise will be going down on the 26th as planned so she can spend Christmas day with her family.

What shall I wear??? That is the real question here. How dressed up do people get? My DH was talking about a tux. Do I need a ball gown? Prom Dress?:confused3 ;)
I'm looking for a little girly advice.

Woo hoo :yay: I can see we're going to hit it off right from the start, as I tend to obsess over dresses/gowns/suits/tuxes, and I think I annoy our cruisers with all the dress photos I post! I haven't done it in a while, but I think we're overdue for a new bombardment!

:rotfl2: about the girly advice, as we often scare a particular male cruiser away with all the girl talk!:rotfl: Grim was on the 2005 cruise with us, booked this cruise, but had to cancel. But he's still one of the gang here! :grouphug:

Gotta go search for gowns now! :goodvibes

I just remembered Kaz (CustardTart) posted a pic of a motorcyclist for Grim when we were getting girly, and she mentioned posting a pic of manly chest hair for him to add some testosterone to the thread! LOL

Aisling - Colleen,
emailed you both the pgs from my album....

Aisling...yep we're needing some more dress photos....

My Brittany has lost alot of weight and will need to get some shopping in, she favors the prom dress style...I guess I should ask Adrian what he wants to do...most likely a new dark suit would be his choice~

:scratchin Maybe a dark pinstripe~

I got your link Brenda, I hafta sign up with Costco to view them so I'll do that tomorrow~

Aisling, John leaves after work on Friday the 16th. How's parking on your block?

In case you missed it, here's how we all dressed for Chistmas on our 05 cruise...

I think I might go for a classic conservative look. My hairstyle is slightly different and I probably won't wear the shades (that would just be tacky). :rotfl:

Now all I need is a matching dress for Teacherbell. :rotfl2:

Aisling
I think you may have met your match in coming up with outfits with the Artman:lmao: :rotfl2:

OMG Artman is hilarious! Jill, I think you're right!!!

About that outfit...YEAH, BABY!!!!!!!!!!!:rotfl2:

And it's GOLD! I wanna do gold for NYE!!!!!!

Ok Teacherbell, what do you think of your DHs formal wear selection???:lmao:

I love this dress, but is it too dressy? Of course I'd have to wear super dooper corset to make my waistline that thin! If only I could shove all the fat downward to be nicely hidden in the flowing gown part!

What happened to the dress I posted? I only see a red X!

Oh, My God!!! Where am I going to find a shiny gold dress in only 7 months. Do you think Cinderella will let me borrow on of hers??

Um, honey...Artman...sweetie... I think I'm wearing black. sorry.

I am so ready to start shopping for the cruise. I hope all the boys aren't scared away. Who will look at us in our pretty dresses?

So New Years is a no brainer - Dress up. But what about the other nights? Do you just go casual, or do you spice it up a bit? Artman says no shorts, is this true?

artman...LOVE the gold lame!!! & dare you to wear it!!!!

teacherbell - yes do dress for dinner - there is also a semi-formal night...the other nights are 'cruise attire' - sundress, slacks, capris, but artman is correct - no shorts (i think they are okay for little kids)....

yeah - Kara has been cleared by doc to go back to school tomorrow

She can't get in the pool at least until after her appointment next Monday

She got her antibotics extended and new scripts for cream and such

Here is a picture of our family (insert your own dirty rat joke here) from last Christmas at WDW.

So that's me (Artie), our son Owen(8) and Teacherbell (Claudia). Thought some of you may want to put a face to the names.

That's good to hear. I hope her classmates give her a big welcome back, especially since she had to miss the prom.

I'm thinking back...let's see,
Sat. The first night I wore plaid capris and a black cardigan (yes, plaid:laughing: but it was Christmas Eve, so it fit the theme;) ). My boys wore dress shirts and black dress pants.
Sun. The second night was formal night I think, floor length gown and black suits.
Ok I don't remember the order from here on, but then there was
Pirate Night and we dressed up as pirates.
Semi-formal, and we went to Palo. I wore a dark red sparkly top/cardigan combo and black dress pants. Chad (DS20 at the time) wore his suit with a different tie than was worn on formal night. Jesse ate with his cruise friends that night, so he didn't dress for dinner.
One night I wore a floor length cotton sundress with short-sleeved cardigan, boys wore polos and khakis.
Another night we all wore red tops and jeans, yes jeans, but only because dinner was immediately after our lifestyle portrait appt., and we all dressed alike for the photo.

Is that 7 nights yet?? I know I wore black capris one night.

Now I'm thinking shoes, as I LOVE shoes.
I brought black "dressy" flip flops, pink flip flops, yellow flip flops, red pumps, black pumps, white sandals, brown walking sandals and sneakers.

For my boys we brought walking sandals, sneakers, flip flops, and dress shoes, one pair each.

I'm so ready to shop, too, as crazy as it sounds!

I just saw the photo you posted, what a lovely family!

No joke, but I do have to say you don't look too thrilled! LOL

ahhh - faces with names! that does make it SOOOO nice! Thanks!

I'm going to need like 5 suitcases just for my formal wear. Artie will just have to wear the same thing the whole trip. No one will be looking at him anyway.;)

I have been looking at Eddie Bauer and they have some nice sun dresses. My sister has a really nice dress she wore to the prom (although I may not fit in it...yet:worship: ) I'm sure something will come up. I hadn't thought of shoes though. Ah, more shopping.

I have to go look at Eddie Bauer now!

I was just looking at shoes, and I love these. I have a necklace/earrings set that even matches. Now to build an elegant outfit around it.

Are those your shoes? Where did you find them, they are so cute/ elegant.
Do you think a lilac dress would be tacky for New Years?
