Kara's bio-tech class has a showcase project that they work on all year - last year it had something to do with genics and fruit flies

this year they are going to be working rats - they are looking for 3 pairs to mate at moment

told her no way no jose were they coming home for the weekends

no debate here - I would fall asleep and then get an irate phone call from band director that I didn't pick up the kid on time

For Castaway Cay - Kara has requested the Wild Side excursion for teens

I asked if that was booked what was her highest priority

first she said kayaking, snorkeling and biking - then she saw the parasailing

so now parasailing, kayaking, snorkeling and if all else fails - biking

me - I will be the one hiding under beach towels and unbrellas for the day

Wow, you guys have been chatty today!

I have fond memories of the rat lab in college. Rule #1: no naming the rats, they're experimental projects, not pets.
Mine was Reynoldo.

Last time we were on CC we tried to do it all. I felt like we were running from one activity to another to another the whole time. I was more exhausted than relaxed by the end of the day. This time the only thing we have booked is parasailing.

Looks like we have a very manageable size group for fish extenders, so I think having an assigned day will be fine. Besides, I can delegate delivery duties.

Parasailing sure sounds like fun... I'm trying to convince Ally to do it - we did the Skycoaster (video) but she doesn't seem too keen on the idea of parasailing.

I'm thinking this is the year that I Don't take the kids to get pictures with Santa. What do you think? They are 11 and 8. They would both go, but I'm just not feeling it anymore. Seems like the right time to end this tradition.

If we see Santa and if he isn't busy - we stop for a picture - unless I have to pay for it

Last year - we found Santa just sitting there practically asleep in his chair -Kara, my mom and I all got our pictures taken sitting on his knee - he was thrilled to have some to talk to - we must have stood there about 1/2 hr

Moral of story - you are never too old to get your picture taken with Santa
