NYE vs July 4

We've been to WDW for the 4th a number of times but never for NYE. For those that have been to both, how do the fireworks compare on NYE to the 4th? Which park has the 'best' show? Does the MK do their NYE fireworks on the 30th like they do on July 3rd?

Just talking about IllumiNations, NYE is much more explosive than July 4th.
I have seen 3 July 4th's and 2 NYE's

NYE fireworks display is a bit more, but so are the crowds! Shoulder to shoulder people you could barely move.

NYE is all about Illuminations I think- they do a big blowout for NYE. We used to go every NYE before kids- Now we go every July 4th- In comparing the 2 I would say crowds are about even but it seems less crowded and it sure is much less hot!!
