NYE taxi use around parks

Current plan is for family of 7 to be at MGM on NYE. I know the park does not close until 3:00 am with emh and am evaluating taking a taxi back to SSR.

Does anyone have experience with getting a taxi from MGM on high traffic days like NYE? I am wondering if it is more difficult or easier b/c of high traffic. Any feedback on this idea and on the expected cost for travel from MGM to SSR would also be appreciated.

Traffic is INSANE on NYE. We sat on a bus for over 40 minutes to get from DTD to SSR last year around 2:00 am. The traffic on property was a complete bottleneck with cars driving over curbs and lawns, and no one getting anywhere.

Frankly is all the cars would stay off the road and let the buses do their thing, everyone would have gotten to where they were going with minimal delays.

With all the traffic delays I would suspect it will cost you a fortune. All the time your are sitting there the meter will be running.

Just a heads up... I remember two years ago reading that taxi's on NYE needed to have reservations. Also, due to traffic, expect to be sitting in a LOT of stop 'n no-go.
