Hi! We are coming to Disneyland for the first time arriving Dec. 31 and leaving Jan 4. can you please give me suggestion for what to do NYE? We will have gotten up early for an 820 am flight , arriving at LAX 1120am.

Should we go to a park? Should we make a dinner reservation?
Any suggestions appreciated!

If you want to eat, then, yes, make a dinner reservation. The resort area will be very busy on New Year's Eve. I personally would go to Disney California Adventure park for the day and however late you can last into the night. We have visited for New Year's Eve several times and find DCA much more pleasant to get around. They also offer a midnight fireworks show followed by a showing of World of Color.

Agree with this, however, last year there was no WOC showing, there was a dance party. But definitely get a reservation somewhere for food!!!

Did not know they stopped the WoC midnight showing. We did not go last year, but we were there for the previous NYE. Did they still do the fireworks in DCA last year? That was the part we cared about and watched.

Yes, nice fireworks show. Then it was fun music for another hour.

I am happy to hear this report. We are planning on spending NYE in DCA. We are hoping to get a WOC dining package at AG too. We were toying with the idea of spending NYE at DL Park but have read somewhere else that DCA is the best park to be in. I am happy to hear that there are fireworks at midnight and a dance party afterwards.

There are bands in several places around the park. There is a good one in front of Carthay. I believe there was one on the side of what was Tower, now Guardians. By WOC it was a DJ. Now, 2015 they showed WOC. This will be the first year in over 20 we will not be at DLR for NYE, as we are headed to WDW for our first time!
