Hi, I was just reading about a pool party at SSR for NYE - does this happen every year? And just wondered what happens and if it is suitable for small children.

Plus do any of the other DVC resorts do anything special on NYE?

many thanks:thumbsup2

Last year, Boardwalk had a stage with a DJ on the lawn between the Inn and Villas. We missed it but others seemed to enjoy it. They passed out party hats and noise makers. A couple of years ago we were at Vero and they had a lame party by the pool. More the participants' fault than the CMs though. Both were kid friendly.

Can't comment on the SSR pool party for NYE, but we attended their pool party this past 4th of July and it was 100% kid-friendly. The CMs did a great job of engaging the kids and running the activities.

Last year they had it at the main pool. They usually give out noise makers, play different games, they do have a D.J, if it's warm enough, usually the kids swim (because they are the brave ones;) )IMO it is very kid friendly. My family and I have been to SSR the past 2 years for NYE. :goodvibes The year before they held it at the Congress pool, then at Midnight, Downtown Disney had the fireworks. Bummer that they no longer do that....It was spectacular!

We decided to try OKW this year....and to try a different time of the year to go. This year we will be going in February. I know what ever resort you choose to celebrate NYE, your family will have a great time. :)

The year we stayed at SSR on NYE, we sorely wished we'd stayed at the resort and enjoyed the pool party rather than going to Epcot. JMHO ;)

A&E would have been 5 & 8 at the time, so slightly older than K&L will be?
