NYE in Epcot

I recently changed my plans and added on 2 nights at a non-Disney hotel, one of the hotels across from Disney Springs. Will I need to arrive at rope drop to avoid being locked out? I know the parks can close to capacity, but I really don't want to be there all day. I wouldn't care except I am meeting family there.

I've been to Epcot a couple of times on NYE and arrived in the park later in the afternoon. I may be wrong but I think you'll be fine arriving later on at Epcot. The Magic Kingdom would probably be a different story though.

Were you staying off site? I'm concerned about the tier closings, since I won't be in a Disney hotel.

In the last five years, Epcot hasn't closed, even for a Phase 1.
