NYE at Epcot ...again....

I know this has been beaten to death...but,
what exactly is it like at Epcot (WS) on NYE? I would assusme that the park is open past midnight, adn they have fireworks at midnight? how late is the park open usually on NYE, how many different shows are going on, and what are they like????

are the WS restaurants do anything special if you are having dinner at one of them? or is it better to have dinner at say...flying fish, ofcourse then is the never ending question of...would you be bale to get back into the park.... even if staying at an Epcot resort and have an AP. ?

is it extrememly magical? and is it something a true disney fanaatic must experience atleast once?????????

Just a bump...I think we've decided to spend NYE at Epcot instead of MK, just in case we "have" to stay in the park all day (don't want to leave MK and then not be able to get in any park). I am calling tomorrow to book a PS at San Angel, but don't know what else to do. Help!

awesome... well, that is a good think, but why!!???????!!!

here's the thing, we are going to WDW for Thanksgiving for 16 nights, this already is our 5th vacation this year.... I want to spend NYE at WDW because I have always wanted to do so, and the next few years may not be possible, next year we will eb at Thanksgiving again at WDW, then I plan on rrunning the marathon Jan 2005, so NYE will be out of the question....as for the following years, it will become more difficult for uus to take so many vacations a year...

My question is, is the celebration/patty/experience/ worth going back 3 weeks after we come home, just to spend NYE at Epcot....or can we miss it?

We have celebrated NYE at all the parks and EC is our favorite. There are various types of bands playing. For instance Beetlmania and then they will have a show at the FW stage and one in the back near America. They do extra shows of the statues in France & concerts in Italy. Each of the countries do their normal shows but more of them.

Plan to get there in the morning and stay for the day. We took our time, no rushing. If there was a line so what we had time to waste until midnight. We made a dinner PS which is a must. We enjoyed watching each country's cms count down to NY using their homeland time. It was so fun it was like celebrating all evening. No special shows in the restaurants but they try to offer holiday related special dinners.

Guest are given horns & hats. We toasted the NY with Champagne and wished the Cms happy NY. Usually after midnight and the countdown everyone leaves the park.

It is essential to have PS for NYE. It is one big party. Each country celebrates at the time it turns midnight in their country, ie in france at 6pm, england at 7pm. Last year they had a special dinner buffet and bands in the Millenium tent as well. Bands set up all over, DJ's in Japan and Italy to name a few. British invasion is the beatles-like group and the crowd all gathers and sings along. Special very pricey dinner at the Bistro. Illuminations is at 11:40 pm and then followed by fabulous fireworks at midnight. It's great but if you've just been there for 16 nights I'm not sure you'd want to go back for just that (unless you live reasonably close). Rooms are at a premium price at that time. Park is open until 1 am. Wine and beer vendors are all over with a one drink/person purchase limit per visit.

I booked a 5:30 dinner PS at San Angel Inn. We'll have to eat enough to be full until midnight! Can't Wait!
