NYE 2011 at BLT

Got our room this morning....never been down for new years"s...anyone else going to be at BLT????

Wow you got NYE this late??? I am surprised i would have thought the night would have been gone by last week. We will be there and probably a good number of the other members will be also. Last year was the first year the Poly was checking IDs for their party so lets hope the CR does something officially for NYE this year, aside from TOTW. If you will be at BLT the week before NYE try to make it to the Christmas DVC get together. We went this last Christmas and it was nice. You have four chances to make the party. When we get closer they will post the dates.

Congratulations! What type of room did you get?

I was stressing over my Christmas booking last week for BLT. Like the other poster I thought they would have been taken as well by people staying for the week.

I was unable to get BLT standard studio for Christmas day so I booked AKV SV Studio instead. I was able to get the standard for 12/26-12/29. I'm waitlisted for the 25th. I won't be there for NYE. Will be on the Dream 12/29-1/3

i was trying for 2BR 1BR and studio..all standard view. as of now i have a 2BR lv and a 1 BR standard view....hopefully tomorrow i can get the studio standard view...there will be 14 of us and some coming different days...talk about stressed...i need a drink!!!!!.... :drinking:

Yep, they do it 4 times (once a week)in December to give everybody a chance to make it. It is not a huge deal but is nice to go and meet some of the other DVC members. We went on Dec 30. Most of the parties are on a Thursday except for the first one that was on a Friday. In addition, they have a get together every Wednesday at the Beach club (Atlantic Dance Hall, i don't know the time)... Arriving on the 25 should give you the chance to make the party on the 29th (assuming the same schedule as last year). Last year it was at the Contemporary, i assume it will be the same this year but it may not. It was nice they had a DJ and "Ariel Cee" was there to keep the kids busy. They had fruit punch drink or water and a rice krispy treat for each attendee. It was nice, very low key and very relaxing.

Wont be able to make it on the 29th. Have to leave early that day to get to the cruise ship.

First time!!! You will have a great time. This last Christmas was our first time and it was awesome. We usually stay at Pop but it is a totally different experience staying in a monorail resort. One of the best memories i have from my childhood was waking up to the steam train and boat whistles (use to stay at Fort Wilderness when they still had the train). At BLT you can hear the boat whistles from the dock and the steam train chugging around the MK in the early morning. It is very surreal. Totally worth the money spent. Just be aware, when you leave you will have the uncontrollable urge to add on more points so you can stay longer. I am not sure if there is a cure... :scratchin

well I did fess and broke my silence... its no longer a surprise for the Dec. trip :faint:

tentative plan is to check out BLT on the 30th and check in at Poly till Jan. 2nd but we can still make cocktails since its just a monorail ride away

I got all 3 rooms this morning....2BR standard....1BR standard....studio standard...the only thing i had to do was get my 2BR on 12/31 with a lake view. everyone is happy...all 14 of them!!!...they only have to show up now..too bad it wasnt that easy for me....just have to call back and get the remaining nights to complete our trip....thanks for all the replies...maybe see a few of you there!!!!!
