Yesterday we finally went to NYC to the World of Disney Store! :cool1: My kids (and myself) were so excited to go! We walked all the way from Grand Central up to 55th street were the store was located stopping at Toys R Us to ride the faris wheel and American Girl (my son loved this stop :rolleyes2 ) and finally WORLD OF DISNEY! :jumping1: We walked in and were so excited to see all the stuff you would see at Disney! I was like a kid in a candy shop! We took pictures of the kids in front of the castle picture on the wall, with Cruella and Goofy statues. We didn't have time to visit the charactors but I think Pooh and Tigger were there. My son was happy  because they had pins there and they don't at the Disney stores in our local mall. He picked up a 50th anniversary pin. They may even trade with you because they were asking my son if he pin traded. Overall I was trilled with the store but was a little disappointed they didn't have more adult clothing. My kids loved the stores we visited but as my 6 year old put it it was a little:crowded: for her. People were too "pushy" (meaning always moving you along) no time to rest. They both made the observation "it isn't this crowded in Disney when we go!" I did pickup some earings I forgot to get while in Disney last time. Overall a successful wonderful trip, a great way to get "disneyfied" between trips.

Hmm we may have to do this soon. I was told that this is the one place besides parks and online that I can buy my AP. Of course we will also have to hit AmericanGirl(problem is that dd thinks it is only fun if we eat there) :cheer2: and Toysrus but our big anticipation(for my oldest anyway) is the reopening of the old Pokemon store into a new Nintendo store....he may explode. :bounce:

My DD and I visited this the first of the month when I took her up to New York to see Wicked. It was a really nice store. They had a really good variety of merchandise. DD was looking for a kingdom hearts pin and they didn't have it, but that's a pretty specialized request.

We got a couple of t-shirts in adult sizes that were on clearance. But it was hard to find adult smalls. Most of them were much larger.

I liked the special NYC merchandise. I got DS a New York Disney pin, and I got a magnet for myself. And the bags say something like World of Disney, NYC. Yep, I saved them! I'm a geek!

I'm going to have to make a point to get there soon! I was hoping to take the train down last week during DD's school vacation but DH decided it would be more fun to have the driveway redone and other "fun" projects. Taking my older Girl Scouts on June 4th to see Little Women, but won't be able to stop. Tried to get group tickets for Wicked but we were told that all Saturday group seats were sold out through 2005.

I was in NYc last weekend and couldn't make it into the store (walked right past it) I was with a group of dancers and other Moms and Disney is just not their thing :confused3 ! They were more interested in shopping on Canal Street, but I was able to sneak over to American Girl Place while they were shopping at Sephora! Maybe next time!

i live a 20 minute subway ride away in queens and i STILL havnt gone since they redid it. it used to be just a small regular disney store, im eager to check it out now. I seriously need to head over there afterc lass one day (my college is in manhattan, on lexington avenue near central park so not too far). I just havnt really had time to go!
