NYC workers, anyone closing for the GOP conv?

My boss is talking about possibly closing on Sept 1 and 2.

DH's company is talking about trying to move as many employees to the NJ office so people won't have to commute in. My friend's DH's company has officially closed the entire week. DH works for an Investment Bank, so closing the doors isn't an option. He's also thinking of working from home for the week. They have very good off-site capabilities (all a result of 9/11) and he can access 95% of his stuff from home.

We're not "officially" closed, but 18 of 20 employees have taken off vacation either the whole week or the days of Sept 1 & 2.

We're coming in--we have about 3 or 4 deadlines that week. A few people have vacation, but most of us are coming in--they have rejected vacations because of the deadlines. We are coming in early (7 Am) and leaving early (2 PM). We can't do work from home. And we are just across the street from Madison Square Garden......
