nyc,time square on new years eve,will you be there?

just found out yet again this year i will be working in time square on new years eve.this will be my 6 th time in as many years there working on nye.so any disers gonna be there?

Have to agree with this, besides my uncle is a retired NYPD and he would freak if he found out I planed on going. Plus he always said to stay away from the subway too.

I take the subway whenever I am in the city...but still wont go near there on New Years Eve....the most crowded time I go is when they blow up the Macys parade balloons....

I have been to the city a few times and have never been on the subway, you have to be aware of your surroundings no matter where you are, but he prefered us walking (which I migh add is pretty in the winter)

No way will I go to Times Square on New Year's Eve. Heck, I avoid it on any given weekend during the holidays. And spring time. And summer. Oh, and the fall too.

No plans but I dont think ill be in Times Square!!! I dont like going to the city on NYE because getting a cab back to queens is near impossible! I normally stay within walking/stumbling distance to my house or a friends house!!

I used to work in the Paramount Building and my office windows had a great view of the ball dropping...however, my office closed promptly at 3 pm on NYE and we all got out of there as soon as was humanly possible to avoid getting crushed. Trying to get down into the subway while there is a wave of people going the other way is no fun.

We often talked about having a party, but we never did. I miss that job...(Heck, I miss NY. I wanna come back!!!!)

The closest I've ever been was a rooftop overlooking the ball drop. We had to be in the building by 3 and weren't able to leave again after that. In fact the few hours leading up to the lock down- we didn't even step foot in TimesSq. Just got to watch from above.

It was nice to be in a warm cozy building and then go out on the roof for like 20 minutes.

I would never even think of being in that crowd. That would be madness!!

I work in the area - can't get out of here fast enought on New Years Eve!
Sorry - makes me nervous just to watch it on TV. I like it other times of year, but I can't stand seeing that huge crowed all penned in like cattle for hours! I'm always afraid something bad will happen and there will be a stampede!!

Seeing the responses by those of you that live in NY, I wonder how many of the people that are there on NYE are actually from NY? Based on the small sampling here, I am guessing most are out-of-towners.

NYE in Time Square always looked like something I would love to do as a kid. I swore I would go there someday for the celebration. Then I grew up! You couldn't pay me enough to do that now.
