nyc, time square on new years eve, will you be there?

I'll be in NY for a few days but, unfortunately, I have to come back home on the 31st.

I actually did the Times Square thing 2 years ago. It was great! A friend and I were able to stay at the Times Square Renaissance hotel .... at a $159 for the night (due to a glitch on the Internet). Anyway, this was the year that we were given orange hats to wear due to the increased security threat (level orange).

I liked staying at the Renaissance because there was a section in the square blocked off for the hotel guests. We didn't have to leave our room to go outside until about 45 minutes before midnight. From our position in the square, we could also see the fireworks from Central Park. ****sigh**** We really had a good time that night!

And I was thinking of going there this New Years too???

I did many years ago and though busy, it was a blast! Why do you all feel that way? :confused3

I just came back last Thursday and we had such an amzing time I thought going for a few days over NY would be such a good time?

Won't be there this year but the fiance and I were there for NYE last year. We headed down to Times Square around 6pm and ended up about 15 blocks away but could still see the ball drop and we weren't crowded at all!!! We live in Southern California and I thought we would freeze to death in NYC but it really wasn't that bad. It was about 50-60ish during the day and the lowest at night was about 40. It seems cold but with a warm jacket and some gloves we were good to go! Overall, we have been to NYC 3 different times/seasons and NYE is by far my favorite time of year to go!!! Here's some pic's from last year...

Someone would have to pay me an awful lot of money (like millions) to even consider it. I hate crowds, I hate being squashed in, I hate people breathing all over me, especially drunks. I hate having it take 3 hours to go to the bathroom, if they even let you out of the "corral" to go at all.

Nope...I like watching it from the living room.

NY'er here also and you can count me out every year. I would imagine it to be a little slice of hell.

.

The bathroom part is the problem!! A couple years ago a friend of mine went and she was there and the guy behind her had been drinking..he had to pee so he went right there where he stood, all over the back of her pants!!
No thank you!!!!!

I will be watching it on TV...but won't be there. I love NYC....but I stay the heck away from there during the holidays...let alone NYE......way too crowded. Plus, DH is a police officer and he has to work that night anyway....won't be any fun without him, huh?
