NYC shows?

Last summer we saw Addams Family and Jersey Boys. Got the tix at about 45% off through TKTS in Times Square (had to wait about an hour in line). LOVED Addams Family- great sets, good acting, funny story, and there's a certain camaraderie with the audience all "snapping" along to the music! Jersey Boys was good, but different... those guys can really sing, and they are adorable! Lots of fun to wait by the stage door after the show, as the leads came out, talked, signed autographs and posed for pictures (did I mention they are gorgeous hunks??). We also saw How to Succeed in Business. It was good... and we went to the box office for rush tickets (got there about an hour before the box office opened); each person can get two tickets, but they were only $30 each, and we sat in the 4th or 5th row. Daniel Radcliffe was OK, but John Laroquette was AMAZING, truly he carried the show. IF I had a budget to follow (i.e., no Wicked or Book of Mormon), I'd go see Billy Elliott (get tickets at TKTS). It's closing in NYC in early January, so it's now or never (although there will be a national road tour). I have heard that Mamma Mia is great; friends who didn't care for the movie LOVED the show. I'd try to get rush tickets for this one... last summer, the discount at TKTS was only about 10%; not worth an hour's wait in line, IMO. DD saw Wicked this summer and said it was the best thing she's ever seen... but my SIL, with the DH who has an upper-6-figure salary, bought DD's ticket as a graduation/birthday present. DH and I stayed at the hotel... $320 a seat was just too much for us!!

We saw "Wicked" our first year and then we saw "Rock of Ages". If you're in your early 40's, you will recognize the music and it was hysterical. We also saw "Promises Promises" with Kristen Chenowith and it was really funny too.
