NYC Disney Times Square Store

Has anybody been recently? Have they moved the NYC themed merchandise (or all the 1st floor merchandise) to the 2nd floor during the construction of the 1st floor?

I was there in april and the first level was not under construction. I mean its possible in the last 3 weeks something has changed but they just did that store so it would seem odd to be under construction already.

I was there on Sunday and the first floor is completely closed off. You can still go up to the second floor and shop there.

I hope they improve it. It was a disaster the last time we went. It's so cramped and uninviting! For a new store it was much less than the previous NYC store. I really was disappointed.

Did they move all the merchandise onto the 2nd floor or more specifically do they have the themed NY merchandise available?

They do have themed NYC items. I got a few shirts and a Statue of Liberty Vinylmation for DD's collection.

I was just there Saturday May 7 still remodeling the store 1st floor.
I like the old Disney store much better

Stitch Kingdom is reporting it is going to close for about a week and re-open Memorial Day weekend. No exact dates yet.

yes the one on 5th closed. this new one is just a large disney store with NYC theme stuff on the ground floor. would you believe they don't even have NYC postcards? i do think some of the stuff is cooler than what you find in your average disney store, but overall i was not impressed when it opened.

I stayed at the Marriott Marquis for 3 nights, literally Disney Store was out my window. Only went in once, not impressed! Upstairs was like a regular Disney Store on steriods, downstairs just NYC stuff. DD did get a Minnie Statue of Liberty Snowglobe that was $28 which is cheap compared to the ones in the parks.

Thanks for the update. I'll just make it then before they temp close. I don't care about the regular merchandise so I hope they have crammed all the unique to their store stuff onto the 2nd floor

I agree with this. I went at Christmastme and it was just ridiculous. And not because there were a lot of people there. There weren't.

Why are earth are the remodeling? I was there last week, it was fine. I mean it's like most stores in NYC, skinny and multi-level but the overall look of it was cute and looked to be in good condition.
