NY Cruise - Park Hopper & Transportation

Received this notification for my October 2016 cruise:

As part of your sailing, a 1-day Walt Disney World® Resort ticket with Park Hopper® option is included and will be delivered to your stateroom the evening prior to our arrival in Port Canaveral. This ticket will include three FastPass+ selections that can be used at any attraction of your choosing. You do not need to make FastPass+ selections in advance.
Curious how you made your fastpass selections?(if at all?)

Looks to me like you just take your passes to any attraction with fastpass and get in line for it. Kind of like a wildcard. But curious to know as we're doing this itinerary next year.

That's correct; we'll be able to use them at any attraction that has a Fast Pass entrance!! :sunny:

So after the initial 3 I have read you can make others... Have you heard how this will work? I am really interested in how it works for the 2016 sailing since I am on 2017. If you are not in MDE I am curious how more will be added?

According to the info released by disney, somehow these day pass tickets will be linked to MDE. I'm intrigued how too, as we have annual passes as well, as I was hoping to book three timed FP+ using my annual pass as well - thinking we can then have 6 FPs for the one day, as we will then attempt to do all four parks that day - those extra fastpasses should make it must easier to do! :thumbsup2But not sure if this will now work, if the day tickets are going to get linked to MDE:confused3

Going to be the new Soarin' and Test Track for us. Third is still being debated. Thankfully we have over a year to decide. :-) I'm kind of bummed they don't give us a meal voucher but we will eat in Morocco nonetheless. We'll decide on the day if we want to try to make it to DW after lunch.

I am on one of this year's NYC cruises, and with less than 5 months to go until my cruise (and 4 months until the first of these cruises takes place) there is still no word from Disney how they're going to be handling the fast passes, if we will be able to book FP+ in advance, etc. The last time we contacted them it was a simple "still working it out, stay tuned".

I personally don't mind all that much as the day we debark the cruise we are flying straight back down to WDW for a week, but on the cruise page on facebook there's been a lot of confusion over what's going on and Disney doesn't seem to be answering anyone's questions :)

I spoke to a DCL port excursion cast member and she read me the memo June 1st 2017 stating you will receive 3 fast passes to use on any attraction excluding Pandora. I was very upset by this since I took this cruise specifically to see Pandora! Since we will not be there early enough for rope drop even if we are on the earliest bus. I have been monitoring the wait times on my touring plans lines app. And TOP waits jump to 2-5 hours just after opening. The cast member suggested checking back in early Oct.because it could change if waits for Pandora slow down. However that is too late to change my touring plan as to which park I start in. I am thinking of booking a value room and buying additional one day passes so that I can at least see TOP. This would also give us 3 more fast passes and we would be able to see more and have somewhere to take a rest.

When we did this cruise in 2012, we took the first bus and made rope drop at MK. I just looked at our pictures from that day and we were in MK at 8:00 that morning which I believe was EMH.

Last year we took a 7:30 bus and got to the park before 9. You can potentially make a 9am rope drop, but I would check whether the park is open early for Extra Magic hours that day.

Animal Kingdom pretty much has extra magic hours every morning and evening, at least for Avatarland right now.

We were able to get in for EMH - this was for the 2012 cruises, not sure if it is still the same. We were on the 6:30 bus to MK and made it for 8:00 EMH.

I so hope they keep this itinerary and cruising out of New York! We would love to go to WDW on this itinerary and especially save on the air fare by driving to NY!

Does that include the second set of three passes or just the first three anytime passes?

Eyeballing this itin for mid to late November 2018... anyone have any input on the temps/conditions on board? Seems like it might be chilly and windy? I checked Personal Navigators from an October cruise same itin, and the sea days highs were like 72°. Wondering if you can actually use the pools and if we should bother with a verandah (we've never cruised without one ).

Just make sure that you Enter the park with one ticket, exit, and re-enter with the 2nd ticket to activate it. Otherwise, you risk having your MDE account locked (or suspended, I'm not up on all the details of that).

Enjoy your cruise and WDW day!

I agree with Lanejudy. If you decide to buy tickets and book a room, use them for AK and Pandora. Then, when done, use your cruise parkhopper to do the rest of WDW. Don't try to use the cruise FP in AK if you've entered on the purchased tickets, unless you go out of AK and come back in with the cruise passes. They will not just slap your hand. They will mess with your account. This is a recent change to eliminate people who were booking extra FPs on other people's cards, then using the in the Disneyparks, even though they weren't used to enter the parks.

Thanks! That is what I was planning on doing. If I am paying for a room and extra one day tickets, Disney should not worry about my 3 extra fast passes.
