Hello,
I was just wondering if anyone has been having trouble with NW latley. I have had my flight changed 3 times since I booked it in December. Nothing has been too major, and I have been able to basically book whatever I want once they change it. It is however stressful and time consuming to go over chaning my flight. I have flown NW a ton and have never had a problem before this.
I was wondering if anyone has had this trouble or might know why all of the flights i pick get cancled.

Wow, thats awfull. I havn't had that happen yet. Hopefully when DD,DS and Dgrandson fly down in December they won't have to deal with that. Susan

Most airlines frequently change schedules these days. Since most are strapped for cash, they change schedules based on passenger loads.

Our NWA flight, in April, changed a bit, but luckily, we get extra time, at Disney because of it. YEAH!!

We always fly Northwest as it is the only airline that flies in here.

We have had this happen several times in the past...but, we have always lucked out and things turned out to our advantage..

I always book early and there are always flight changes...we have to fly Mesaba, NWA commuter, so we always run into problems with connections. Airlines are required by law to allow you a certain amount of time between flights...and everytime the connecting time has been too short so we pretty much got to pick what we wanted to do.

Last year, we were using frequent flyer miles for 2 of our 3 tickets...and the only flights that were available were into Jacksonville....so, we made our arrangements to drive back and forth...not minding the drive to Orlando on the start of our vacation, but dreading the ride back to Jacksonville....sure enough, true to form, NWA changed their schedule allowing us only 20 minutes to catch our commuter so they gave us several options...one of which was to fly out of Orlando...so we did not have to drive back to JAX..

In truth, I do not remember a time that NWA did not change our flight times in all the times we have flown.....but, then aain, we book very early.

I had my flight changed today - I actually gain an hour at Disney so that's nice. Anyhow - when I contacted the CM at Disney to update my information for Magical Express she said airlines are always doing this and that you should always check to see if things are as planned until 48 hours prior to departure.

I fly a lot of NWA flights out of DTW and frankly it happens quite often. That is why I enjoy SWA and fly them whenever I can. Once SWA puts up a schedule, the don't change it.

Really?? Do you know what that minimum time is?? I'm flying NWA for the first (and maybe last!) time in April. My flights have been changed at least 3 times, the second time with no notification at all (I noticed the differences when I received the third change). At this point, I have 40 minutes between flights on the way down, changing planes in DTW, and 30 minutes on the way back, again changing planes. I've been advised that I'll never make the connecting flights at DTW in that amount of time, and am NOT happy. Worse, I booked through Expedia, so I'm not really dealing with NWA at all at this point. I'd love to know that there's a law out there that can help me!

Sorry, don't know what the time limit is....but, I have been told this by the NWA agent each time I have called and voiced concern. I have never really been notified either..I have always noticed as I keep checking my reservation and see any changes...and as soon as I notice them, I call NWA.

The new terminal in Detroit is pretty nice and it is much easier making connections. (Much better than before.) Your 40 minute connection should be no problem. 30 minutes is a little tight, but I think you'll be okay.

For our February trip, NW changed our flights 3 times. We ended up getting down to MCO a bit earlier than we would have under our original flight. The problem was that they changed our commuter flight from Lansing to an earlier flight and then left our original late flight going out of Detroit to MCO. I called and asked for an earlier flight out of Detroit and they accommodated my request. (That flight, when I originally booked, was quite a bit more expensive than the flight I booked.)

I have had changes in the past that were no good. But last month's change worked out fine.

That makes me feel better - thank you. I'm getting around my fear of losing luggage by actually mailing the kids' clothes down ahead of time (they're visiting Dad), and bringing 1-2 carry-ons for myself, so your post has helped me feel much more relaxed about making the connections.

After reading these posts-I checked my flight and it has changed!! I was originally on a nonstop from Flint to Orlando and on a nonstop back to Flint. Now, my return flight lands in Detroit w/ a 40 min layover and then on to flint. I am freaking out about this!! I don't like to fly anyway and am flying with just my 2 daughters--hubby is staying home this time. Can I tell them in Orlando that I am getting off and staying off in Detroit? Will they tag my luggage accordingly? I have a call into my agent at AAA.

Yes, they will tag your luggage, but, I would call NWA directly and explain your concerns...you might be surprised at how they are willing to help you out!

Let us know.

I did call Northwest and explained my concerns. I was able to change to a nonstop flight but I will have to return the next day---so another day in DW!! Thank you for the suggestion.

Great News! I figured they would be very helpful. As irritated as I have been with them on a few occasions, the reps have always been very very helpful and willing to work with me! :flower:

I also fly NWA out of DTW and FNT. Just about every time I fly my time gets changed!! Its never more then 10 minutes, but I agree its very agravating!
