Dropping in with a quick hello from Lake County, Florida......

If any of you have seen or heard about the severe brush fire in Lake County, Florida our place is just three miles from where the fire started. It was a bit scary our first night here. We could see the smoke several miles away as we were approaching our home, praying we found our place still standing. Over 1,000 acreas of brush has burned, but as of last report no homes or injuries have been reported, for this we are very grateful!!!

We did lose our electric for a few hours yesterday and our phone service was just restored this morning after being off for over 25 hours. The trip has been an adventure to say the least.........

I am using my free Netzero account here and only get 10 hours of service a month, so I have to keep an eye on my time, this dial-up is sooooooooooooo slow and the minutes seem to fly by.

Still no word on our closing, I hope to hear something next week.

Just walked in from a magical three days at WDW. We stayed two nights at VWL our new home. We went to the PPP party Wed. night. We thought we were dreaming, the first couple hours there was no one there. Not only could you walk on the rides but you could stay on and ride again if you wanted. The only bad thing was that they had several of the rides and attractions closed that were open in Feb. when we went to the PPP. We went to Seaworld yesterday and it was packed with school childeren. I guess they were celebrating the end of school. They all had matching teeshirts and there were several different groups. If you didnt get a seat at least 30 mins before the shows started you had to stand.

Vman - Be careful, fires can change directions easily. Hope your having a good time in spite of the fires
Tammy - DH said if I want to buy a small contract when we're there he won't mind but it has to be at AKV. Now how many points do you need to buy to get the current incentives

I came home from work exhausted and feverish. I think my DD has shared her germs. I have to work late afternoon tomorrow. At least I can sleep in and not worry about anything until 3ish.

I thought I read somewhere that it was something like $10 off per point for 50 and you get developer points, $10 off per point and a gift card if over 100 points.

If I got the green light like that.....watch out!!

We tried to find a new pair of shoes for Laxlad but they didn't have what he wanted. We ended up going Zappos and then I forgot to add the discount code!!! Doh!!!

If the man wants AKV, get him AKV!!!! I'd be happy if mine showed an interest; he's just tired of dealing with it at this point! I'm not sure he will support adding on anywhere, anytime after this!

Another work day ( actually another work holiday weekend ) ..Oh well, this too, shall pass.

Tink, I agree SSR has better incentives so I checked both out when I traveled in May. But, AKV, just fell in love with it. I toyed with the idea for a tiny bit, wondering if there would be better incentives when Kidani got closer to opening. But frankly, I only bought 50 points ( I'll have 100 for next summer as have to bank 08 ) and a discount off 50 points is rare. So I bought them!

DH said we will check out both resorts before we decide. I am looking at doing the add on to both contracts,50 each. I wonder if I get the discounts since its 2 different contacts. Wouldn't want my girls to think I love one more then the other

Laxmom - I also found a code for an additional % off at shoebuy. Now I'm really tempted I may get DD some shoes since her feet grows like weeds. 2 sizes in 4 months. She'll be passing my size by the time she turns 9

Are you thinking 2 resorts or 2 contracts at one resort? I am pretty sure you would get the discount if it is 2 contracts for 50 each at one resort. You can split the points however you want as long as it totals 100 or more. If it is 2 resorts - I have no clue!!!! Be interesting to find out though!!

I'm looking at adding on to 2 separate contracts. I don't think I'll be able to combine the 2 though. I may do what DH said and just wait until we get there next month, see what incentives they have and go from there. Should be interesting, I do know I don't want to buy any more resales, between ROFR and estopple my nerves couldn't take it again

I understand that!! We just wanted to get into the system so we don't need the 160 minimum. Next time will be direct from Disney!! For HHI it doesn't make sense not to - by the time you pay the closing costs, you are paying the DVC per point cost. Maybe we should have just bought the extra points.
