We are going to take the kids and grandkids to BCV. We will have three rooms, all studios which sleep 4. In room one we have 2 adults (the grandparents). Room two has 4 (two adults and two infants). Room three has five (two adults and three kids age 5 to 9). The rooms only allows 4. What will happen is one of the kids will sleep with the grandparents nightly.

Can I list 5 in the room so their park tickets are tied to their reservation for FP+?

Can I have 5 on the dining plan so they can track family meal credits (we will not eat together always)?

I am open to any options or suggestions other than leave one grandchild at home.

Up you can't have tickets or dining plan for a fifth person in a studio unless it is one that sleeps five. You will need to list the fifth with the grandparents.

You have to list the 5th child with the grandparents. You will not be able to add a 5th person in a room that is only designated for 4, unless you move up to a room for 5 people.

It doesn't matter where that child actually sleeps their head for the night, but for reservation purposes, you have to have them with the grandparents.

If you are booking through DVC, you need to book a single one bedroom villa instead of one of the studios. Then you can have five in the room. But you will still only have sleeping spaces for four - a king bed and a queen sleeper sofa.

If you have to put one person on "paper" with the grandparents reservation I'd make it one of the adults in the room - easier for an adult to track their meal credits correctly than a kid.

I'd first decide what I wanted to do from a DP standpoint and then figure out how to fit the occupants into the rooms, esp if you're planning to get the DP for part of the room but not all. The 5-9 ages are likely to be the best value for the DP so 1 adult and 3 kids in one room might be the best OR even better, to get a 2 BR plus studio if you have the points.
