How many invitations should I order. The list is 300 people, but most are couples, so say around 175, but if I plan to do a B list how many more invitations should I order?

I'm not sure how many to suggest. If you are doing a B list than maybe 225. We ordered 75 with a guest list of 110. We figured how many families and couples that were invited and counted them as 1 in the invite count. We had extras and used them as our B list. I still have a box in the closet with maybe 15 complete invite sets. It was cheaper to order more rather than having to reorder as the price difference for 25 more was only a few dollars.

I had 260 people, but a lot were parts of families, I ordered 125 and then for my home reception we had an additional 80 and so I only needed 100 of those

Whatever you do, don't forget extra envelopes in case you or your calligrapher needs them. Most places will do this already, but with 100+ you want to make sure you have enough for a few mistakes.

Next question for home reception, the place holds 300 does anyone know the rule about number to send out. Example assuming some will not com do I invite 350....it is the Sat after T'giving and we have a lot of out of town people who will very likely not be able to come. I just hate to send out 150 B list at the last min.

I think the general rule is 20% will not attend...and then even some who say they will don't come (which is quite fun!)
