We're staying at Jambo House 9/25 - 10/06! Couldn't be more excited!

We haven't been to AKL since 2007 before Kidani was built, but we were always huge fans of the transportation there. Very efficient and fast! Has any of this changed since the expansion?

I have the same worry, haha. We have 2 break days planned to just enjoy the resort since staying here is a HUGE deal for us and probably a once in a lifetime thing Only 50 days to go, well technically more since the first part of our stay is at AoA, but I am excited about both!!! I watch the DIS hotel video on you tube at least once a week

I am so looking forward to my first trip to AKL and I am worried I will not want to leave the resort to do any parks!!!

We had this problem last year. Our kids (ages 8, 6, 4 and 4 at the time) didn't want to leave the resort. It was crazy. DH and I joked that we could have saved a ton of money by not buying park tickets. We actually plan on spending more time relaxing at the resort for our upcoming trip because we loved it so much, and less time at the parks.

I never stayed prior to Kidani but I've never had a problem with the buses, never a long wait for one.

Question: Where can I get a good cup of coffee at AKL in the morning, or do I need to drive to Clermont (Target Starbucks is closer but doesn't open till 8am!)

we arrived today - had a great check in experience! Adam checked us in, upgraded us to Savannah view, great room on 4th floor Sunset Savanna. Very pleased.

Took the bus to DtD for EoS, came right back as my younger son had hit his max - wanted bed. Stopped at Mara first for some zebra domes and bottled water. Now chilling in our room watching Disney Jr and snoozing off and on. Planning on Mara and swimming and marshmallow roasting later. I LOVE this place!

That sounds like a perfect start to things. I rarely have anything planned for the days we check in. Just hang out and relax.

My DP and I enjoyed a fantastic weekend at AKL (CL) in August of 2010, and we'd like to repeat that in August of 2014. We are spending a week at BC with my sister and her DBF, but before that, we like some alone time, with no parks planned, and we really think AKL, especially CL is the place to do it.
My question is for those AKL August people. Disney usually releases a nice discount (25-35%) off deluxe hotels for the last few weeks of August, and this is when we're targeting. It's been a few years since we've watched AKL for any discounts. Can anyone tell me if AKL savannah rooms and/or CL rooms were included in the late-August discount for this year? Was it a full 25-35% off?

We'd love to do this, but would need a deep discount to be able to justify it.

By the way, we are also AP holders....any discounts there this August?

I don't know the answer, BUT, I do know where you can find out: mousesavers has a list of the discounts that have been released and when they were released. This list goes back several years. I hope you can make it work!

I could be wrong, but I don't think there are ever any discounts on CL, not even AP. I have stayed CL at AKL twice. Once cash and once on DVC points. I also stayed at the BC CL cash and don't remember there being any discounts available then either.

You'll have to make sure you eat all those zebra domes at once.

Scott MC, I'm fairly certain I got a discount on the CL I stayed at a few years back, but it was in October, not August.

The August discount was 5% for AKL CL. Not much, but something.
