If you booked CL, then you automatically have a savannah view. Right?

Absolutely! ::yes:: The confusion is over Club Level non-DVC vs Club Level DVC rooms! All Club Level resort rooms (non-DVC) in Jambo House ARE Savanna View.

The Club Level DVC villas are Savanna or Pool view. (There are only a handful of those villas; all are located on the 6th floor with the Lounge. They are normally not available to book through Disney Travel as we DVC members scoop them up! ;))

Howdy everyone!

We are staying club level for a few nights this summer and were thinking about requesting a bunk bed room. Does anyone know where these are in the resort, or have any info on them?

TIA!

4430 would be 4th floor. If you requested 3330, it would be lobby level ..you can ask to be in the "area" of 4430. I have done this and got the same view but different floor

I'm assuming the Sundown Mingle (Disney Vacation Club Experiances) is only for DVC members - not people staying DVC on rented points. Is that correct?

I'm checking out the activities to see what we should try and do on our trip :) Wasn't sure if this was an option for us or not!

I'd love to hear any thoughts on the must-do activities in general!

Our upcoming trip will be our first at AKL and also our first time staying CL. Is there anything I should request for room locations? If so, when should I make my requests? TIA

I am in the TEENS!!! 19 days!!

Oh how lovely! It will go quick now! By the time those lists are done, you have packed, changed your mind and repacked, cancelled and rebooked your ADRs ... Lol you will be there enjoying the atmosphere, food and fun.

A friend of mine owns at AKV and she told me the Mingle is for any guest at AKL....DVC or no.

I am DVC and I thought it was just for members.

We have been to them before and needed to show our card to get in.

Well me and DW were very confused by this when we went. That's what we thought but we were told the food and drink is paid for by DVC but it's nothing to do with DVC... They were very clear about this to the point of being touchy we thought! It was def open to everyone staying at AK last week. Many non DVC folk there but DVC as well. I got the feeling they were either careful about not appearing to be selling DVC or it has changed format but I don't know as haven't been to one before. The guy hosting ours was actually the only rude person I came across the whole time we were there. Everybody else was a dream. The social gathering was nice and other guests but this guy was something else! Had a right chip on his shoulder about Disney he continued to say how much more he preferred Universal etc. People were very surprised and one even more die hard Disney fan than me ( if its poss lol ) was actually quite upset. I just couldn't understand why they would have such a person hosting!

My friend explained it me. DVC is now hosting welcome parties for AKL visitors. She checked availability one night during her recent stay but it was already full for owners.
She has encouraged me to go when I'm staying there, which is why I answered the PP's post. Apparently they want the right mix of owners/non owners. :goodvibes

Cool. Thanks for checking.

Our TA is booking our room today for June 18-21-2014 followed by a DCL cruise on Fantasy. Our first visit to AKL. We aren't going to the parks, so intend to make use of the resort. It sounds beautiful. Also, our first DCL cruise. It will be a 75th birthday celebration for me. Please add us to the list for 2014! Many thanks.

My DH had a couple of questions about the AKL and I didn't know how to answer them. I did try to Google them, but came up with no answers.

I see that the PV rooms nearest to the buses are in the Giraffe Trail. Are there exterior doors, to that section, or in order to enter the building from the buses, do you have to use the main building entrance?

Also, does anyone know what bus stop number the AKL is at each park? I know it will be a closer bus stop than when we stayed at the Pop Century this past June, but for some reason he still wants to know.
