Two weeks from today, I'll be sitting on my porch while the wild animals sleep....in my room. And I watch the real animals out on the Savannah. I'm SOOOOOO excited!

Congrats to Kimmar and DizDad - you guys have a GREAT trip!

....can't wait to see the look on their faces when we show up at the airport... and how crazy is THAT that we wound up getting the SAME FLIGHT?

....I don't know, but it always seemed to me that the Sunset Savannah always fell victim to an earlier shadow....they also have ostriches on that savannah and you don't find them on any of the other ones...

Yes, different animals - but my choice would be Sunset Savannah! Zebra, giraffe, antelope, ostrich........... lots of activity on Sunset!

(Kimmar, you will see that for yourself in a week! Lots has changed since you last stayed there! And I'm sure you will have a blast doing research for your thread!! )

Pembe has the Red River Hogs and Okapi -- I do not recall what other animals, but it is the smaller of the 2 savannahs.

I have only stayed Kidani on Sunset Savannah, not Pembe. YMMV.

They are really the main attraction on Sunset - thanks to Kidani!

Make sure you spend some time at Kidani - out on their overlook! (you will soon understand why I say that! )

We've stayed all over WDW but this will be our first time at AKL or AKV. Hoping the animals are restless and we get good viewing from our window!

Lunch and dinner only. We've enjoyed lunches there with the zebra right outside the window! Even if you don't get a table right by the window, you should still enjoy the view!

We're doing a one night stay-cation at AKL next month (April 11th-12th) and I had read that there's a kids water play area but I can't really find any clear pictures of it. What exactly is it? Is it like a water play ground for kids? We're planning on spending the entire day at the hotel so I'm looking into what the kids can do and I know they will love the zero entry pool (esp my disabled daughter) but I don't see them spending all day there.
