I eat meat too.... foie gras and veal are 2 I don't .. while I am very aware of the cruelty in the meat industry, these 2 are meats that cruely is necessary to make them "good".
Sorry.. back to topic..
OP, yes you can order something as you like it at Disney. Don't let the fancy terms scare your DH or kids off. Who knows.. they may find something new they really like!
We transport grains and weeds from the harbour of Rotterdam to bakery's and different brewery’s in to different countries of Europe
When the loading pipe starts hundreds of mice and rats are already in the cargo.
You can see them running around but they can’t escape. They just can’t climb iron wall’s
At the plant we unload the cargo and the animals, even if they are "just" mice and rats go alive into the mills that make flower of the weed. And be sure nobody catches them and puts them outside.
Also the grain for beer is quit often "living” with beetles. It looks like the grain is slowly moving but that are just millions of beetles. But who cares? The insurance people come, look and the price of the cargo goes down and the beetles just lost there fight.
I know its very disgusting and for me its also cruel but its the plain reality.
(And nobody tells you that these grains and weeds are also washed in gasoline for fungus. )
I particularly like this one, as it appears on the Raglan Road menu posted on allears...
Keen Eye for the Sheperds Pie - We give the traditional Shepherd's Pie (prime beef and lamb) a much-needed makeover with our contemporary twist to this favorite dish $16.95
Forcefeeding ducks, is cruel? The way I see it, they were going to the slaughter anyway. They got alot of extra meals before they did.
Anyway..
Op, my father is the top complainer in this world. He too, pouted, hissed, rolled his eyes, and snickered @ the menu's before we went on our first free ddp in 2006. The reality of it all. Is he sat there, and ate every bit of in his mind "wierd food". So much so, this will be his third trip down, he just cannot get enough of that yummy Disney food.
My DH is a super picky eater and was a bit taken back by the menu descriptions at some of the TS menus and most of the Signature Menus. I told him to ask the server to describe each item he was interested in...and adjust to his taste. I must say they are very accomodating and he has loved most if not all the meals. If you are a meat and tater kind of person....they will gladly substitute or change to meet your taste.
PS....DH has tried many new foods at WDW and gave the 99% of the time. I remember his first experience with risotto and polenta...he he...I said, just order it...and he loved them.
I use Bok Choy often when I cook. It is a stalk vegetable, similar to celery, but with some zest. Think of celery with a water cress flavor. It is quite tasty. They even carry it at Wal-Mart out here in the sticks.
sjaakie I like that you care about ALL critters... and consider what most would think "oh well" to is cruel. So they grind the mice, rats and beetles up too.. so that's in what we consume?
aside from the cruel factor,
**edited as I saw a mod made a comment and I will respect it**
Wanted to add, to keep on topic, my ex was a VERY plain, picky eater. Plain chicken and noodles or rice. every day. That's it.
He tried new things at Disney at my insistance and really liked some things. He actually even enjoyed Boma quite a bit!
