Day 3: June 3, 2010: My BIRTHDAY!!
This was a beautiful place to wake up to....
This morning we woke up extra early to head to early magic hours at Typhoon Lagoon! I had been so excited to visit this water park, and it was exactly how I remembered it from nearly ten years ago! The extra hour in the water park was amazing!! We found a nice lounge chair near the wave pool and immediately got into the waves. This was when my TR title quote came about, because my DBF thought these waves were very authentic.
To my complete surprise, DBF was up for riding water slides! First we rode Mayday and Keel haul falls...so fun! These are both nice and easy going intertube slides, so not scary in the least. Then...

DBF wanted to ride Humunga Kowabunga

This was probably the low-point of my trip. I don't think I've ever wanted a "ride" to end more than that one! Free-falling down 242 feet is not my idea of fun....Talk about major heart attack.
We skipped storm slides for this day, especially after experiencing kowabunga! We headed over to the shark reef for our first snorkel experience. At first when we got into the water, I panicked a bit and had to grab onto the rock in the middle. After I realized that I could actually float and breathe at the same time

, I did ok! DBF *loved* this, and we ended up going for another round!
As you can probably tell, we were making a full circle around the park...so, what's next? Crush n' gusher of course! I had read a lot about this...and left out that it's called a "water roller coaster" to my DBF, because then he never would have tried it. We rode 2 out of the three slides and had a lot of fun! We couldn't believe some of these dips

but they were really fun. Here's a valuable tip that our first CM failed to tell us.... lift up your bootie! It hurts to let it touch the slide...ouch!
After all of this action, it was already 9 am! We lounged in castaway creek for awhile, and took in the wave pool for awhile longer. Those waves are *reallllyyy* powerful! By 10 am, we were ready to head out. DBF wanted to head to the Nike outlet to buy some more sandals (this would be a theme of our trip, with DBF now a self titled "sandal person").
Does anyone else find Kissimee really hard to get around in? Thank goodness for WDW transportation, because when we were in our car, we were lost! Before we found the Nike outlet...we found something that only we would be excited about...
CiCi's Pizza!!!!! They play commercials all the time, and there is not one anywhere near us! In fact, there's only 1 in California. Anyway, this was a real treat for us.
Still in my swimsuit and cover up

Notice my wristband from early entry into Typhoon Lagoon!
YUM!
And back to POP with our pet for the week.
Next up: Day 3 continued....a rainy day at Epcot
