Someone is actually selling a DVC DVD (the promotional one they send out for FREE) on ebay. Disgusting!

In defense of the seller, s/he may not know that it's free. I run an eBay business selling boutique children's clothes that I buy from thrift stores, consignment shops, etc. Occasionally, I'll find something outside my area of expertise that I think might sell so I'll buy it, list it, and hope for the best. :)

I, personally, would not sell a DVD that I know to be free for the asking. I'm just making the point that the seller may be be unscrupulous. Or maybe s/he is! eBay defientely has its share of unethical sellers, just like any business. No more, no less (IMHO!).

I have been waiting for my DVC DVD for what seems like forever! I rush to the mailbox, look inside and no DVD. Maybe going through ebay would be faster! :confused3

We have one of those videos laying around somewhere! We also have a DVC tote and 2 framed BCV prints from when we bought. I think the tote and one of the Framed BCV prints (maybe both since we sold) are going on Ebay this weekend. Now to remember how much the frames cost, I'm sure I can recoup that plus some for the prints themselves. I may offer them here first, gotta' dig them out of storage.

I went to Property Control with some cm friends of mine a few years ago and they were selling the hard bound book DVC used to give out when you requested information, I think for like 99 cents. I've seen people selling DVC buttons that they give away at the sales center. Just because it's free to start with doesn't mean someone will not pay to get their hands on it. I wouldn't call it disgusting, it's a free country.

Some will sell anything they can.

Sounds like you and robinb might be able to do a little deal, she's looking for a tote bag. Now if I could just find a DISer with my blue backpack........ :thumbsup2

I'm in the same boat, but I won't be reduced to paying for it.

OK, maybe disgusting was a tad harsh (I wasn't really disgusted just shocked). I guess if you can find some poor sucker who is willing to pay for it then more power to ya.

I got some red DVC baseball hats on the cruise for free .Everyone who was with me got them . We ended up with 7 hats and 7 white visors, all kinds of pins and other stuff. I even won a yellow waterproof tote bag in the drawing. I see them being sold all the time on ebay.

I feel like DrT with this profound quote!

It's simply a matter of being well with, er, good about, um, uh, wordishness....

I have to admit, when I was planning our first WDW vacation five years ago, I was ridiculously excited, obsessed, and completely hungry for any previews of my vacation. I ordered the planning video and it took about 2 months to arrive. I was very, very impatient and I did actually check e-Bay once or twice to see if anyone was selling it-- they weren't.

(When it did come, I was kind of let down, although me and DD watched it a trillion times anyway, I still remember that song, "Take a look, at a world where dreams come true...")

Seems hilarious to me now, I have a bunch of those videos and never look at them now, but at the time I could not wait to get my hands on that video.

This is why eBay exists!

I bought some red dvc cruise hats off EBAY and love em'. Have yet to see them in a store or anywhere else. Oh yeah, and I bought the yellow waterproof totebag also, my favorite beach bag. I guess it is always what someone wants, and I'll never be on cruise, so this is my opportunity!

Guess I am someone's sucker! :rotfl2:

Keep in mind that posting items for sale on the DISboards is not allowed. This includes posting links to items for sale on E-Bay.

I didn't know this, sorry, guess I won't post any thing for sale or post a link.
Sorry folks, if your looking for a BCV print or DVC backpack you'll have to find it yourself, on Ebay, this weekend. :teeth:

OT - I want a BWV litho:thumbsup2 haven't seen one yet, not too thrilled w/the WL rendering.

Must admit - I've bought a few DVC items on eBay, glad I got my beach tote "free" for an add-on - thanks Brian.

Is it tacky to sell a complimentary, informational WDW video or is it a re-gift of sorts?

You could argue that earlier versions of DVD's/VHS's of anything Disney-related is a collectable (Disneyana). A few months ago I noticed an older DCL video easily sold on eBay.

Free enterprise, a sucker born every minute, or a rare collectable?
