Now this is a strange one...

Doing Host_Pinny's quest this afternoon, I ran into a very strange thing that happens on my brand new laptop computer. Every time I begin to go into the gallery in VMK, my internet service disconnects for a second, which of course bumps me off of VMK! My internet connection reconnects almost immediately, but of course, VMK is gone.

I repeated this scenario at least eight times, trying both AOL and Internet Explorer, with the same result every time. I could never get into the gallery to complete the quest! Btw, this is the only computer in the house to behave this way, and when it crashes it does not affect anyone else's connection. We have cable broadband.

This was the first time that I've had any reason to go in the gallery since I've gotten this computer. There may be other rooms that cause this reaction, but I haven't discovered them. I have not had anything similar happen with any other site.

Do any of you computer savvy people have any ideas? Please help!

I had the same problem (see the quest thread below) could not get into the gallery. Finally I just went to my internet tools and cleared my files and off line content files - BINGO no problem finishing the quest.

Dumb question as I never got to finish the quest, but after going to the Banquet Hall... I think the next step was to follow the picture and find a jewel... where was I *supposed* to go?? I guess being new to VMK really can have its limits when doing a quest

Thanks, Peri. During the quest I deleted all cookies, files, and history, then restarted. Back into VMK, click on gallery...crash! Then I did a disk cleanup...same thing. I just downloaded AOL computer check-up, ran it (nothing found except suggestion to defrag...computer is two weeks old), restarted, and signed on to VMK. Same thing!

Anybody else have an idea? Could it be a computer setting?

Mal, I was so excited...I thought that the answer for me was there!
