Now that we can modify reservations online...

Thanks for the answer, but in my case, the "modify reservation" option doesn't appear. Instead I get "cancel my reservation" only. Anyone with the same problem?

Same with me. My reservation shows "cancel", but not modify.

Yes - not all reservations can be modified online.
When calling in to Disney, the greeting message indicates that not all bookings showing on MDE can be modified online; some need to be handled by a CSR. If booked through a TA, the "cancel" option will not display, either.

My BB reservation only shows a "cancel" option.

I have one reservation booked through a TA and another one I booked direct through Disney and the one I booked myself has the cancel option, but the TA one shows nothing (which, I assume, is because any changes must go through the TA).

I live in the States and cannot modify online.

Same here.

When I go on my MDE and click on reservations it has room and packages and then my reservation at CBR and then my dining reservations. nothing that says cancel or modify at all.

Keep checking as something might appear. The one reservation I booked myself didn't show anything, but now shows the "cancel" option. I'm not sure if it will eventually show the "modify" option, but it wasn't showing anything up until a day or two ago.

You booked a package online at Disney's site, and then were able to modify it to a room only reservation? I'm very surprised (and glad)! If so: Is your cancel date 5 days prior (as room only), or still 45 as package? I guess you might still have a package - using the Summer RO discount and then make it into a package by buying tix and DDP (I never do packages so not sure if that's possible - turn RO discount reservation into a package).

I'm not the OP, but is sounds like the OP booked a package and then took advantage of the room discount as room discounts can be applied to packages (with the discount being applied to the room portion only).

Thanks guys! I never even noticed that modification option. I just changed my May stay at POR, two nights, (RR) from garden view to river view...changed to a pass holder rate from the springtime discount...$50 less!!

I changed our stay for the 24 hr day from a rack rate at ASM to the Fl Res spring rate at POR last week using the new modify option.

Today I got a survey in my email about it. image.jpg

Sorry if that was confusing. I applied the room only summer discount to my package. It kept the same package with tickets and dining, but just adjusted the price of the room portion of the package.

When you chose the "modify" link, what did you see on the next page? When I click on my modify link the next page has my current offer at the top with all the room (preferred, water view, etc) options underneath it. Did the summer offer appear at the top of the page right beside your current reservation? I saw all that space and presumed that was where other offers would appear.

Edited to add: I just had a peek at our reservation and now the modify reservation link is gone. Guess this is a feature that they're still testing.
