When during the year (historically) can I expect to see Dec flights begin to show up??

We fly Dec 4 and I"m not sure when to start looking.... In the past I've signed up for Southwest email but I guess my filter doesn't like it cause I rarely get it...

OK SW experts....:sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

We recently hopped the border into Pa. When will Southwest officially begin service from the Philly airport to Orlando? I tried plugging in some dates and i didn't get any prices. Thanks for your help.

Looks like flights begin May 9,2004 out of Philly

I can't answer your Southwest question, but about the spam filter....My wife and I noticed over the last few months that we were receiving very little email. We finally figured out that a lot of mail was going to the spam folder (on AOL). Now we check this folder daily and remove items that are not spam. On AOL you have to put the address in your address book so it will no longer go to the spam folder. It's really ashamed that we need something like a spam filter and folder but these days they seem essential to keep your sanity. Check to see if your provider has something like a spam folder and you'll be amazed at what mail went into it!

I don't know if you have a preference to SW, but USAir is matching the SW price to the penny. We already booked our flight for next Jan with USAir for $147 + tax to MCO. This is the cheapest we have ever paid. I checked SW for several dates for the summer and this was the lowest price I found.

Southwest generally puts dates on sale about six months in advance, but they don't add a day at a time. They typically add a whole month of dates all at once; usually around the second week of the month. I think dates are now available through Aug. 7, or so, and dates through Sept. 7 should be posted in the next 10-14 days. On that schedule, dates through the first week of December should be available by early June; the rest of the month by early July. Remember, you'll need to be able to book your return trip as well as your outbound to get the best rates.

I would keep an eye on other airline's fares, however. As a previous poster has noted, they frequently match what SW is offering.

Yeah, I do know that but my close friend is a pilot that recently got layed off by Usair in Philly and he is very uncertain that they will be around in Dec. So, rather then take a chance I'll just wait for the Southwest prices...

I wouldn't worry about US Airways just yet. Even if they declare bankruptcy usually another airline honors those tickets. You will have plenty of warning before US Airways goes out of business.
