Seeing Spiderman in the Electrical Parade?
Having a Xmen Float during the 3pm Parade?
Getting a Visit from Captain America and Mickey Mouse at Chefs Mickeys??

Im one of those people who no matter how hard I try I cannot get use to Marvel at Disney.

You'll be relieved to know that you almost certainly will not have to, at least not at WDW. Due to previous contracts Universal holds the rights to those characters in the theme parks east of the Mississippi and Disney doesn't appear likely to try to change that.

FWIW, I don't believe they would mix the Marvel characters in with the traditional characters in the Magic Kingdom; I think they would be more likely to give them a presence in Hollywood Studios. I wish they could do that, I'd rather see them there than Indiana Jones. Disney needs more attractions for boys to balance out the Princess overload that exists in the parks now and I think Marvel characters would be perfect.

They just did a special Phineas and Ferb episode where Spidey, Hulk, Thor and Iron Man guest starred.

I think that's the sort of crossovers we'll see...not "Marvel at MK" where it simply doesn't fit.

Would love to see them in a Marvel parade at HS. That would work well I think.

The Marvel characters wouldn't mix at all with the current theming at MK though.

However, for reasons that surferdave mentions, it ain't gonna happen. :headache:

If it makes Disney money, they will do it. They need to recoup the investment.

PERSONALLY... i don't want it (marvel) in the Disney parks at all.........

That may be more of a Phineas and Ferb thing; they are also rumored to have crossovers coming up with Star Wars and Wreck It Ralph.

Yes! There is princess overload in the parks and it would be nice to have something more boy-oriented. Everyone takes their little girls to BBB and CRT or Akershus, but outside of Pirate's League and maybe some of the other pirate activities, there's not much that appeals to boys directly. I would definitely take my son to a character meal with the Marvel characters or watch them in a parade.

If it were legally possible, I'd like to see Marvel characters and maybe an attraction in DHS. As mentioned, it's not possible, but I think it'd be cool if it was.

They'd definitely feel out of place to me in MK.

But in order to do it they would have to give Universal a boat load of money to break the contract. So again no need to worry about it.

I'd be totally fine with it myself, I would not mind seeing superheroes in the parks at all, any park, although they'd certainly fit best at DHS. But it won't happen since Universal still holds the rights to use those characters in eastern theme parks.

But if you're against it, they haven't turned up in parades at Disneyland yet to my knowledge.

Disney can make money off of the characters in Florida without bringing them to the theme parks. For instance, the Disney Magic will soon be getting a "Marvel’s Avengers Academy" kids' play area that will include appearances by a live Captain America. I suspect that other cruise ships might get Marvel tie-ins as well. :)

I am cool with them incorporating some Marvel as long as it fits in. I don't want it showhorned into MK, but it would work in other places besides DHS. Innoventions could become the Stark Expo, and Captain America could appear at the American Adventure. AK could have some of the nature themed guys as well.

However, sadly, Universal has the rights for the forseeable future so the point is moot.

I think my 3 year old DS would agree with me in saying marvel characters at Disney would be awesome! Too bad it can't happen any time soon:(

So why did they purchase the brand if they are limited to what they can do?

They can do whatever they want, except where existing agreements preclude it--such as Marvel intellectual property being used by anyone other than Universal within a certain distance of UO. Clearly Disney believed Marvel was worth what they acquired it for, else they wouldn't have purchased it. There are other profit-making opportunities outside the theme parks (movies, for instance).

I could go for this!

Exactly. Disney can make a ton of money from the movies and actually do very little. I'd be happy to see Marvel anywhere personally but it won't happen.
