Now that DH only wants deluxes (with concierge).....

I find myself wanting to stay at a moderate. I think I've lost my mind. I really like the openess of the resorts, the foodcourts, many quiet pools and how you can have such a nice experience for so little $$$$$......... I think I need professional help. Have you ever felt like downgrading because you really like a moderate better???

My DH sorta feels the same way. He always likes to splurge on vacations and while everyone I know says I am so lucky he is like that, I get frugal because of it and think we paid WHAT for just a few days. So yes, I can see your point. I am actually just getting ready to get two rooms at the POP for Sept. It is my first value resort but we are paying for my parents to come (surprise) and it is funny how it is cheaper then booking just one deluxe room. I feel better about this trip but I am nervous what my snobby DH might think of POP I know dd and my parents will love it.

I've never stayed concierge before, but the ONLY thing that gives the deluxes the edge for me are interior corridors, and better proximity to the parks.

But, I would have no problem selecting a moderate just for a different experience every now and again.

I do have very fond memories of Dixie Landings and we loved the layout and feel of that resort. But now we only book deluxe mainly because of the transportation to parks. We have twin babies and have found that the monorail, boats, or walking are more convenient for us than bus or car transportation. We also enjoy the restaurant options at the deluxe resorts.

As far as the spread-out feeling, Poly is fairly spread out. We also enjoyed the quiet pool at Poly.

LOL We just got back today. Split our stay between POR and AKL. He hated the POR would not stay there again, too far to walk to lobby, restaurants and pool, small beds, air conditioning kept us up much of the night (very loud sounded like a crop plane landing when went on automatically, yet it was too hot without it). I didn't feel he had sufficient reason to hate it but we've tried moderate a few times and now he only wants deluxe. Problem is we can't always afford deluxe. So to him it's not go or go deluxe to me I'm fine with moderates.
He likes the Dolphin so I got an Starwood Amex card and unfortunately or fortunately depending how I'm looking at it, I'm racking up the points real fast, especailly after this vacation.
