Now that Christmas is almost over

What do you do with your X-mas tree?

  • We have a fake tree

  • We put in on the curb to be picked up

  • We burn it in teh fireplace

  • We let it turn brown but keep using it year after year

Well with all the x-mas post, it brough to my attention:

How do you get rid of your tree?

It goes back in it's box until next year. :)

It's over?!?!?!

Geez, I knew I slept in this morning, but that's ridiculous!!

Oh, and ditto gepetto's answer (except we lost the box years ago :p)

The trash man takes it away in February

LOL Ratsrule!

Wow! I did really badly this year, my pumpkin is still out on the front porch and I still have Halloween candy left. I'm so behind. :)

Ours goes back in the box, too. My MIL works at a party-supply store and gave us a pre-lighted tree last year. It's not as good as the real thing, but it cuts down on a lot of arguments between my DH and me ("Dave, just give the stupid lights to me, and let me string them!") And as a Christmas Freak, I can put up the tree as early as I want! (Although ratsrule, by your thread title, it seems as though I'm running late this year!):D

Ours goes back in the box.

I don't like seeing Christmas Tree bones on the curb after Christmas. It is so sad to me.:(

Usually I put it out in the trash on Dec 26. We have 4 houses on our street and we all put our trash out in the same spot. Last year for some reason the special tree collections skipped over our street. The trees were there for the longest time. Finally one of the neighbors packed them up in his truck and got rid of them. I have no idea where???

btw, you should never burn pine in your fireplace -- the sap will screw up the chimney and it can catch on fire!

Put it back in the basement with all the ornaments on it for cali to sleep under.

I was talking about artificial trees

We have an artificial one because of my severe allergy to pine.

I would like to say that around here the local Park has an area for left-over real trees, the Fish Commission then collects the trees, weights them down and sinks them in the lake. The trees make a wonderful habitat for the fish!

We have a program in the parish where I live in which the waste management people come around a week or so after Christmas and pick up all the trees. Then they use them to shore up the marshy areas to prevent erosion.

The 26th is my bday, so as a present to myself, I dismantle my artificial tree that day and put it up for the next year.:) It's very therapeutic.:teeth:

We put our real tree in a pond to help feed and protect the fish.

It goes back nicely in its own bag that it came in . . .

I hate to put it away, but by New Year's Day I'm sick of it! :p
