TwoOldPoohs what great photos...what are their names and how much did it cost you in bird feed to get them to pose!!!?? Just kidding. If you don't mind me asking what state these birds are posing in??

YEAH! I found a new photo post! Mine aren't anywhere as good as some I have seen here - but I guess its only fair to share.

Heres a couple of my faves from our last disney trip in Dec

Holy Cow! Those bird photos are awesome!! As much as I love Florida, I really, really miss my song birds. No goldfinches, orioles, hummingbirds...

Here's a couple I took when I was still living south of Boston.

Mama Robin with her baby.

Ruby-Throated Hummingbird.

Purple Finch and a Goldfinch.

Baltimore Oriole enjoying some grape jelly.

And for some comedy relief...

This Carolina Wren was sleeping upside down! I sent this photo into the Audubon Society in MA and it was shown to their leading ornithologist. When asked what he thought of that behavior, he replied

WEIRD!
:rotfl2:

TwoOldPoohs - you take some fantastic shots!! The birds are just great - our's are jus starting to return here in the Cincinnati area - love listening to them in the morning before the rest of the house is awake!! Keep them coming!!! :thumbsup2

TwoOldPoohs - GREAT photos!!! What camera & lens were you using?

kathymc,
I love the second photo - it would make a great holiday card!

Tuffcookie, sk8belle, Mi3stooges, lovesdumbo, Virgo10, LMarge and 206bones -- thanks so much! Glad you like them!

Mi2stooges - you wouldn't believe how much bird seed these guys go through! It's especially frustrating when the grackles come through - they come in by the hundreds and by the time they leave, every feeder is empty. I always expect to see Alfred Hitchcock walking through the front door. These photos were taken through my streaked and water-spotted glass doors here in central New Jersey.

206bones - most of these bird photos were taken using either the Canon Digital Rebel (300D) or the Canon 20D, and either the 70-300 f/4-5.6 IS USM or the 70-200mm f/4L USM.

Virgo10 - I will miss them, too, when we eventually move south, away from the cold and the snow. Sometimes I just pull up a chair in front of the door, camera in my lap, just watching the activity outside. Your Caroline Wren photo is funny, and I love your photo of mama Robin feeding her baby.
