Now I've "Seen" Everything

Give me a break! This thread creeped me out. The defense of this creep is even more disgusting.

This guy is a total freak/pervert and I would have been at the lifeguard station or calling security at the first event! U.S. is NOT Europe and women sunbathing topless in a country known for that can not be compared to some ADULT male pervert seeing the need to change his suit (5 times!!) at a public pool where everyone knows is built for children in the UNITED STATES.

No defense for the freak from me...this is exactly the type of stuff that sociopaths do (no regard for the people around them) and of course bank on that people will be too embarrassed/scared to say anything. :confused3

Gottago, I was thinking about the same thing. He knew exactly what he was doing. I bet he got a real thrill out of being seen. You do it once and, while it's not anything me or my family would do, you don't do it again. But do it 5 times and you are definitely seeking some sexual thrills. I agree, he was a pervert. I bet he hoped some small girls saw him as well. YUCK!!!

Sorry but you don't know what the motivation was. You may be right that he was seeking his jollies, but you may be wrong too. Unless you know the guy you have no way of knowing why he did what he did. He may have had OCD, may have been clueless as to what is appropriate, or he may indeed have been intentionally "flashing". No way to know us to know for sure, to say "he knew exactly what he was doing" as if it was a fact seems unfair to me.

The fact that he was with his wife makes me seriously doubt he was flashing or had any other lewd intent. If he were alone I'd be much more prone to suspicion. Unaware, either culturally or mentally (i.e.OCD) seems much more plausible.
Does this remind ayone else of the Seinfeld episode where George Costanza was swimming in the cold pool and the woman walked in while he was changing!

Just the typical crude, sinful heathen that patronizes the BWV. Can't say I'm surprised. :earboy2:

I must admit that I am a bit curious about this guy. What did the other person think about this? How old was he? Was he in college perhaps acting on a bet? Very weird situation to do it 5 times - reminds me of a fraternity stunt or something. Was he from the United States? Was he non-chalant about it?

I get the feeling from your post you are leaving something out for some reason.

A few years ago, we were standing at the DVC both in Downtown Disney. It was Christmas time and quite chilly....We are scheduling our "talk" and we hear this loud yelling, kind of like a gorilla noise. Anyway, we turn and there are 3 naked men running down. My hubby and I start to laugh, the guide is really flustered and just says "initiation". I am guessing they see a bunch of this type of stuff.

The fact is, public nudity (indecency) is illegal in this country. That is where the "when in Rome" comes in. When you are visiting another country, you are expected to follow its laws.

Lori

there are several nude beaches in America so maybe he thought Orlando was the same as Miami.

It is just something that is allowed in Ontario and accepted by most now.

Exactly.......in Canada, NOT here.

Yes Manning exactly in Canada so for somone from Canada to go to Florida and go topless wouldn't suprise me it is accepted at home just like people from Europe and what they are used to at home it makes no difference where you are from your customs are something you generally bring with you. You don't just forget them because you have gone on holidays. That would be like asking somone form down south to stop saying Y'all when they talk it won't happen.

Changing clothes in public, going topless is a BIT more than not saying y'all.

Y'all is not against the law. Public nudity is. The guy was a creep and trying to get his jollies. He knew exactly what he was doing and probably does it all over the place, never mind that his wife is right there with him. Once, maybe, and that would just be stupid. But five times, come on now. I would have blown the whistle on him after the second time. I probably would have given him the benefit of the doubt on the first free show.

I wonder if any of the guests in the villas got the free show from behind the chair?

There are many places available close by the pool to change a suit without having to go back to your room.

Some people asre far to uptight about nudity it is the human body we all have one we have all seen them naked and so have our kids. If the guy was getting his jollies he would have done it out in the open no chair around that would have given him far more excitement than hiding behind a chair to change. As for the Y'all statement it was a comparison maybe not the best one but it made a point southerners will not stop saying Y'all and people used to going topless or changing in public won't stop doing that ok a better analogy of when in Rome so does that mean we should all run out and buy a gun to carry around when we are in the states according to the media there are far to many shootings and crooks out there that will shoot you dead for your 10 bucks in your pocket. Yes that was over the top but you get the point.

There's really no way of knowing what motivated this guy unless he reads these boards and posts to tell us.

However, I agree with Charles and the others who say if he was behind a chair it doesn't sound like a typical case of a "Flasher". From what I have read folks who get off on exposing themselves are NOT discreet. Think of the stereotype in a long raincoat with nothing underneath, walking up to a victim and opening the coat. I am certainly not an expert on the subject, but every time I read about a Flasher the perpertrator has done the dirty deed directly in front of the unsuspecting victim. That's what gets these creeps off, not undressing behind a chair in hopes they will be seen. They need the shock value of approaching a victim and full exposure.

Again, I am no expert and it certainly is possible the man was indeed getting his jollies in some way. But I get very upset when folks judge others and make statements like "he knew exactly what he was doing" when they weren't there and really have no way of knowing what motivated the man.

And I really don't understand why, if this was so offensive to the OP, that nothing was said to the lifeguard or anyone there. Perhaps, if this was indeed innocent, the man could have been enlightened as to what's appropriate in our country. Coversely if he was doing it intentionally then he would have been stopped from "harming" anyone else.

I put harming in quotes because it's us adults, especially in this country, that deem the human body "dirty". Most kids, as we all know, would run around naked all the time if we let them. With all the horror going on in the world I'm less upset by my kids seeeing nudity than someone being tortured or killed. To me violence against each other is obscene, but if you watch the news you'll see plenty of that.

I acknowledge that I am very liberal and some of you folks have different standards. Of course we all have the right to raise our kids as we see best. I realize there are laws even in a free society, and I certainly am not suggesting we all walk around naked at WDW.

Hi Charles - most of us British do think speedo's are tacky - but we still do get a lot who wear them.

Seriously tho - a man changing trunks in public is not acceptable here though. I wish more countries had the same laws as the US on toplessness too though. In Europe a lot of people do it, and I personally think it is disgusting - particularly in family resorts.

I missed this thread the first time -

We witnessed the same exact thing many years ago in River Country. A couple and their toddler son. They changed back and forth about three times - I believe by the third time the lifeguard noticed (or was told) and asked them to use the restroom or they would be asked to leave. It was also obvious they spoke no English. We still talk about this today when we have conversations about other countries customs.

LOL! Yup. Under the clown's evil influence, I'm surprised this sort of thing doesn't happen more often.
