While staying at the BWV, I used the pool (Luna) a few times last week. There was a couple there and the man did something absolutely lewd and obnoxious (not to mention illegal) - every time he got out of the pool, he got behind his pool chair and proceeded to change into new trunks....and the chair gave him.....and us...scant privacy. He did this 5 times! I was so shocked, I was speechless and I think everyone else was just trying to ignore him. One older gentleman's jaw dropped and he yelled over something like 'this is a family resort, you know!' He was out of the lifeguard's view. A lady beside me said she was going to alert Security, but I left before they arrived, if they did. Has anyone ever heard of anything so crude? Ugh!!!!!

I have to wonder why anyone would need to put on a new pair of swimming trunks each time they got into the pool -- and for that matter, what is going on in someone's head packing 5 swimming shorts?

This person clearly had some sort of problem. Someone should have gone to a life guard after the 1st or 2nd time this happened and asked for security then.

Did not anyone have a digital camera or cell phone to nail the guy? I know it sounds disgusting, but would have been worth it. Sounds like he'd fit in at the Neverland Ranch and funny farm.

The Possessed Clown Pool Strikes Again! :earboy2:

Just the typical crude, sinful heathen that patronizes the BWV. Can't say I'm surprised. :earboy2:

I must admit that I am a bit curious about this guy. What did the other person think about this? How old was he? Was he in college perhaps acting on a bet? Very weird situation to do it 5 times - reminds me of a fraternity stunt or something. Was he from the United States? Was he non-chalant about it?

I get the feeling from your post you are leaving something out for some reason.

Ok, ok -- As an crude and sinful heathen BWV owner, I've been sworn to secrecey, all I can say is that it takes ALOT to get into "the attic" ;)

:teeth:

Eeeewwwww! Yuck! Oh, just great... and I haven't even taken my first trip home yet! BLAH!!! I have read some horror stories about some behaviors at Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach but changing 5 times? Very bizarre!

Sounds like behavior I saw on my last trip overseas...saw way too much of people changing on beaches and at pools!!! Gosh, doesn't anyone have any modesty?

Even with a problem, how about the bathroom? Couldn't he change there (as many times as he delighted)?

Other countries have different modesty "codes" than we do in the US. Public nudity is much less of an issue than it is here. This guy may have been from another country and was doing things the way he's used to. (Although it probably would have been a good idea to find out a little about how things are done in the US before changing in public!)

This reminds me of a clip I saw on the news about a year ago. There was a bad storm approaching Florida, and a local news station sent a reporter out to cover the "impending hurricane". She was standing on the beach reporting how high the tide was getting, and explaining how surfers were really enjoying the great waves. There were some cars parked behind her, and while she was reporting, one of the "surfers" went back to his car, didn't notice the "obvious" tv crew about 6 feet from him, and he decided to change from his swim trunks into street clothes. It was SOOO funny!!! The reporter was clueless, but you could see the camera start shaking as the cameraman started laughing.

Well....that guy got busted for sure....and his "privates" became "public" all over the nation!!!

Where's a video camera when you need one??!!!

My husband served a mission in europe and he said that sounds like something that people do on the beaches there. It is no big deal to them. He probably had no idea he was being offensive. IMO-Icky...no one wants to see it! Keep it covered, bud!

I bet he was European....I saw the same thing in Aruba and I was the only one on the beach that thought it was a problem....I guess I'm a prude!! They must really take that "don't wear a wet bathing suit" thing seriously!!

Thats exactly what I would have done... stormed over, camera in hand and stared him down.

What a jerk!

Well it may have been icky but some cultures aren't as prudish as we are in North America when it comes to public nudity in Ontario Canada women can go topless it is their right to do so. This may be a case of something that is a natural occurence where they are from and they aren't used to NA customs on things like this. Like the people from Europe wearing speedos we may think it is tacky or what have you but over there it is apparently regulation for swimming in public facilities maybe some of our British DVCers can chime in on that one but where my relatives live you have to wear a speedo in the public pools in that area of England.

In Paris I saw a mother pull down her approx. 5 year old daughter's panties (daughter was wearing a sundress) and let her urinate on a tree in the Eiffel Tower area. This happened not more than 25 feet away from a public restroom - guess the mom was too cheap to pay to use it.

I believe that you should try to follow the mores of the culture you are in, not the one you were raised in. It's only polite.

When in Rome!
