NOW is the time! It's MINE & I AM WORTH IT! (friends welcome to tag along!!)

Promzilla!:rotfl: Oh man, I am not looking forward to that. I noticed some of the schools here are having theirs this weekend too. I know she'll have fun and remember the mom who took her to El Paso was it for her dress!

Too bad about dh, I know that is a concern. He has to make the changes and decision himeself but I know its got to be hard for you.

Still scoring all this week, Gyn appt. on Thursday....fun, fun! Still haven't started on my GSale stuff & I'm planning on sale a week from Friday/Sat. UGH!!

- Today MUST be a better day....but looks even busier! DD is working over 30 hours this week...good, but bad for the car sharing situation since I"m still scoring! Stupid Blizzard sale! Buy 1 get 1 for 25c....yesterday I bought SIX....but I'm rationing mine 1 Spoonful 2x day - I'm viewing it as my stress medicine - french silk pie blizzard.....YUMMMMM!!!!!!! Pathetic, I know!

Yesterday I started looking at vacations/cruises again. Almost had myself convinced I could, then was up all night berating myself for being so crazy as to think that. Oh well. Off to walk the dog, then 2 groceries, put DDs work clothes in dryer, CVS to get an adjustment for them overcharging me, go to the place that did DD's official cap & gown pics as I realized we had them taken in Oct and never got the proofs, pick DD up, take her to work, pay bills, pack my bag for scoring tonight, sort dried clothes, pick up the DBF at school,etc....it won't end!

Later..... Hope you are having a good week!

Julie, I love the fact that you are using the ice cream as a stress reducer. Remember that I work for an ice cream company and have a freezer full to contend with every day. You've found a way to enjoy it in a sensible way, so that is good!!!!

You should continue to look for a cruise. Your 50th only comes along once, so you need to have a special way to celebrate! DH and I should probably not be taking our cruise in Sept. if we look at it from a financial point of view, but we look at it as a celebration of our improving good health, so its just what the doctor ordered. Life should be a continuous celebration!

Make it a great day!

We took advantage of the DQ Blizzard sale this week as well! :thumbsup2 Matter of fact, we'll probably take advantage of it again today. ::yes:: Blizzards have gotten quite expensive over the years and you can't beat getting 1 for $0.25!

Sending lots and lots of :wizard::wizard::wizard::wizard: your way to help with your to do list. You have a lot going on! Please don't forget to schedule some Julie time in there!:thumbsup2

I forgot to tell you....We got the caterpillars a few days ago and they are getting HUGE! The girls are so excited and can't wait to see the butterflies!:butterfly

Have a blessed day, my friend!

Oh my, how did I miss this Blizzard sale? I know where I am going this weekend!:rotfl: French Silk Pie Blizzard, how did I miss that too? I know which blizzard I am eating this weekend and it probably won't be two spoonfuls per day!

You are busy but doing well with food and exercise. Celebrate that!

I agree with Denise. Life's big moments need big celebrations! Keep looking for a cruise and remember that at the end of the day, you won't remember what "smart" thing you might have done with that money but you'll sure remember a cruise! Go for it. Of course what do I know, we are unemployed and still hoping we can go to WDW sooner rather than later!;)

Feeling imprisoned in NM. I REALLY don't like it here, but most love it, including DH. sigh..... I really have to stop thinking of vacations!

DS20 car is another 4 - 5K to get an engine in(which has been ordered) then the lawyers fees for suing the place the original engine was put in at (still 4k on my credit card from that one) and hoping/praying we win/collect. And DD's graduation gift - a laptop, like we got the boys - about $1200 for a Mac, gift for the DBF graduation & his 18th birthday - Friday :scared1:, DS23 birthday, DS20 birthday, Father's Day, my vein surgery - $3k, DS20 summer school tuition for 3 classes - about $2k to be made in 2 payments, and then 1 more year tuition of about $550/mo. Add all that to normal, ever increasing living expenses, and I have no right to even THINK of getting away.

I want to do a cruise as that is about the only 'vacation' where I don't have to plan, coordinate, organize & cook/clean up after people. But, I also am thinking of asking one of the DNieces in FL if they would park their motorhome (each has a 35') at Ft Wilderness for me for a week...not do parks, but just SIT. DH, I'm sure, wouldn't go for it. A Week without cable & internet would likely kill him! I just don't know. Unfortunately, driving to FL isn't an option & airfare from here on SW is about $350/pp. UGH!!

I've decided that on my birthday I'm leaving home at 5 a.m. and driving to Sandia Peak and hiking La Luz Trail to the top. It's about 8 miles of switchbacks & goes from about 6000 ft to over 10,000 ft. I figure I will be at the top around noon, treat myself to lunch on the patio of the restaurant on the top - IF they will allow Sashi on the patio. Then I have to find someone to drive Sashi & I back down as dogs aren't allowed on the tram & I'm not sure I'd want to spend another 5 - 6 hours in the same day hiking back down. Why not spend the bulk of my birthday with my best friend doing something healthy! I will take plenty of water, food & gear - incl. my gun & DD's tazer. It is a pretty well-traveled trail, so I should be fine...even the bears & mt. lion's stay pretty much away from this one.....probably will see some deer, goats & bunnies, maybe a coyote, but those I can deal with.

Tons to get done today before scoring. Gyn appt at 9:20 a.m. so I likely won't be back on until after that tomorrow. I'm not anticipating any problems, so praying I'm right. Tomorrow is also WI. I will be disappointed if I"m not down about 2 lbs given my deficits, but I have been too frequently nibbling at pieces of chocolate......:confused3:eek:

Glad it's Wednesday! Hope everyone is having a decent week! I will try to get some journals visited soon!

I definitely think you should schedule a vacation for your birthday! ::yes:: I like the cruise and the Ft. Wilderness ideas! I hope a vacation works out for you this year!:wizard:

How did your appt go?

Sending lots of prayers and :wizard::wizard: your way, WISH sis! Have a nice evening!

You know, maybe being by yourself or with dd at Ft. Wildnerness would be fun! You can take Sashi on Southwest and she's welcome at the campground. Sounds good to me!

That is a lot of expenses but I still say you should try to do something! I like your idea of the 50th hike/day with Sashi. Being healthy and active with a friend sounds like the perfect way to spend the day. That hike sounds gorgeous.

I hear you on not liking NM. I have to say, I am somewhat that way with Colorado. I would love to move to anywhere in the southeast or Texas. But with the kids in school and our house not worth what we paid for it 8 years ago, well not happening! Just because a place is lovely and lots of other people like it doesn't mean you have to!

I am praying you get that amount back in the law suit!

Ooops forgot to congratulate you on that nice loss on the scale! Hope the gyn went well, never fun but always a good thing to do!

Congrats on the loss!

I say go for the vacation if you can manage it. I'm sure there are little things you can cut back on (eating out, etc) that will add up for that vacation fund! But I bet you can also find a fun way to celebrate without spending much $$ too. Either way, make that day SPECIAL! :goodvibes

Wow! I am REALLY behind! And it has NOT been a good weekend! At least for food....or frustrations!

4/23 - 22 points, 2441 burned, 1567 eaten, 874 deficit
4/24 - 21 points, 2774 burned, 1377 eaten, 1397 deficit
4/25 - 24 points, 2184 burned, 1481 eaten, 703 deficit
4/26 - 28 points, 2523 burned, 1680 eaten, 843 deficit.

OUCH!!

So here we are:

4/27 - 94 days til 50

I entered the weekend exhausted & got no sleep due to DH TV habits mostly....15 hours sprawled across the foot of the bed Saturday & same on Sunday with barely moving except to get food. UGH!!! While I cleaned, ran errands & attempt to get ready for Garage Sale.

And, the stupid NM Wind is keeping me from getting in my walking, steps & calorie burn. I just can't deal with 20 mph 'light breezes' with sand blowing everywhere!

Then DH had his physical yesterday. He who does NOTHING physical, eats everything in sight has a total cholesterol of 142! BP 120/76. Makes me ill as I work my A$$ off (literally, it's disappearing....maybe I can transplant some from the upper frontal protrudences???? :rotfl:) and can't get those numbers. So why should he do anything different? Dr says he is in 'GREAT' health! GRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Still haven't decided on Garage Sale. Need to, but supposed to be 'breezy' on Fri/Sat w/ a 20 - 40% chance of rain. Not that the weather here is at all predictable, but the 'breezes' coupled with a low of 26 & hi of 55 makes me leery about the success of a garage sale. Sigh........decisions, decisions.....

DSis had her 5 yr oncology visit last week & got the all clear!!:thumbsup2 She is trying to talk me into a cruise, but it just isn't realistic. If I lived in FL I could handle the cost of the cruise, but add airfare, hotel, car, meals, parking & it almost doubles. Not fair! But life.....

Off to the bread store, grocery & garage sale he!!. I'm now scoring the make up exams for TX, literary, expository & crossover which will likely take into next week. I wanted to be done last week, but at least this has alleviated some of the monotony & boredom. My brain isn't on autopilot at least. But, I wanted a week + off before I started scoring at home to get caught up a bit. Oh well.

MOre later. Hope everyone is doing ok. :grouphug:

Sending a  your way, my friend.

Great news that your sister got the all clear from her doctor!!!!:cool1: I think celebrating her good news and your birthday are excellent reasons for a cruise!:thumbsup2 Any chance the Pearson money or garage sale money could go towards a cruise?

I hope the weather improves so you can get out on your walks again. :wizard:

Have a blessed week!

Julie,

I hear you on the winds. We are having gusts up to 35mph today and it makes everything you do outside so much harder and less pleasant! I hope your winds have died down.

Great news on Dsis. That all clear is always the best news for cancer survivors and their loved ones!:goodvibes

As for dh, can he maybe watch tv someplace else? That would drive me nuts too. As for his numbers, some people have all the luck. I have an aunt who weighed over 300lbs most of her adult life and her numbers were always like that. I am a bit like that too, although my bp can go up some if I dont' exercise. Just know that there are other factors like joint health, mental outlook and well being, certain cancers and other things that those numbers don't reflect. Hopefully your dh realizes that and frankly his doctor should know better than to say he's in perfect health!

Good luck with the garage sale stuff and grading. YOu are so busy as always! Did dd have fun at prom?

Oh btw, I did end up at DQ this past weekend! So thanks for the information on that one!:rotfl:

I had heard rumors, & I REALLY REALLY REALLY want to go. But, DD will be in school & I don't have anyone to go with. :sad2: unless a WISHer wants to join me. http://www.jillianmichaels.com/cruise.aspx

Now back to my real journal.....
will post food/etc later. No garage sale this weekend, too windy.

DSis will be cruising without me. I just can't justify it & DH is spending like he has it between casino & stuff/eating out ( I have had 1 chickfila sandwich - in the car on prom day) since I came back from FL at thanksgiving, otherwise have eaten at home. UGH!!

more later.....

Hi Julie - loved your DD's pics, she looks gorgeous, how did the prom go? My DD has hers in June - love the ''promzilla'' phrase :)

Too bad that cruise wasn't over the summer! Sounds pretty cool. :thumbsup2

That stinks that your garage sale got sidelined by winds. :confused3

My DH has awesome cholesterol too, while mine is high. Definitely not fair!

So, I wrote a HUGE, LONG, therapeutic post & it DISAPPEARED!! Sigh.........
