it makes me so sad. Two of our local stories tonight involved the most horrible case of animal abuse on a dog I have ever seen and the other was an interview of a mother that her son was kidnapped in 1991 and they have never found who did it. Sorry, but both move me to tears.

There was a story here about the police arresting several people when they found a dog fighting arena..

It was pretty graphic and sad story. . . the National news goes overboard at times, but the locals are especially bad. I generally stick to the newpaper. . .

I'm with you guys. I try really hard not to pay attention to the news. But, I'm one of those people who tunes in to hear the hyped up weather forecast.

Laurie, those things move me to tears all the time too. I just can't stand the thought of animals or children being hurt.

I'm from S. IL too. I must have watched the same news as you. But wasn't that dog the sweetest thing you ever saw? I bet it finds a good home now. I don't know how anyone can abuse an animal, I hope they find out who did it.

I agree...our story here is a local high school girl died about a month ago. Our childrens hospital thought it was menegitis.

Turns out she had a cold and was taking over the counter medication for it and some 16 year old friend (boy), gave her morphine.

So, they are changing it on her death cert.
They are charging the 16 year old with something...
too depressing to read about anymore.
