Now I KNOW we got too much rain!!

When we get massive amounts of rain, my front yard is literally under water! Grass in no longer visible in the half of the yard closest to the house (my neighborhood was built on a swamp decades and decades ago ). Last night, at dinner time, the rain was finally letting up. I looked out the front door and what do I see? DUCKS!!! There are ducks swimming in my front yard!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We took bread out and gave them some dinner.....maybe word will get out that my house feeds all "woodland creatures"!! Thumper can have some playmates.

At my parents house, before they remodeled, the driveway dipped down and whenever we got heavy rain - we had a good 4-6" (in depth) pond in the driveway. My mother was always yelling at my father to fix the drain - he never did.

So my mom, being funny - bought a bunch of rubber duckies and floated them in the pond...with a sign that read "Cedar Road Duck pond" hehehe...too funny!

lol I saw some this morning swimming in the median strip on RTE 3 on my way to work.

That used to happen at our first apartment!!!! It was the 2nd floor of a 2 family house, and the backyard had a dip in it that would fill with water when it rained. Ducks would be swimming happily there, and in a couple of days when the water dried up, you'd always see one or two ducks standing where the water used to be looking puzzled !!!!!!
