Now I Am Way Way Way Annoyed!!!

You know, the chefs often change restaurants, and when a new chef takes over, you'll often see menu changes.

Or sometimes things change and life goes on. I was bummed when Whispering Canyon took away the four BBQ sauces on the tables that complimented the skillet meals. Did that stop me from returning? No. I still had a decent meal after that.

Or the time I returned to Flying Fish to find that the potato-wrapped red snapper was off the menu...I was seriously bummed about that, too. (It has since returned due to its popularity as a "signature dish".)

I don't see what the big deal is about LeCellier. I personally had a great steak at Kona during my last trip. My sister loved her teriyaki steak, as well.

My point is, the menus change, and it's always going to happen. You never know if the item you like will return, but it can't hurt telling them at LeCellier that you miss the Maple BBQ Filet.

Yah I could make it but heck........at DISNEY I can go and sit down at a table.......I didnt have to set the table, make the food or clean up after....so to me ANY meal is a great meal...give me a double cheeseburger and I am happy....
I agree, it's just not the same at home.

I have to admit, I really missed the maple creme brulee at LeCellier during our Christmas trip.

And I was glad it was gone, I hate maple anything!! I ask for the maple on the side but somehow they can't do that with brulee!!:rotfl2:

ok relax...

menus often change at resturants... and there is no reason to get upset.. maybe you will find something you like even more... I know I hate when I get into a food rut and always eat the same thing at a resturant and NEVER try something new... and when I do I end up likeing it even more

On the topic of Le Cellier's menu change - they offer a paltry 2 steaks for their dinner entree selection.... same same number of fish dishes... Not that they do not have a decent menu, but it is no longer a high priority for me, I will take my group to the Concourse Steakhouse --- hard to pass on the Pretzle bread but oh well

Good, I am glad SOMEONE noticed it was just venting. I have two prime dinner spots at Le Cellier and I am not about to give those up!!! Plus, I am not the only one going.

AND, SINCE WHEN WAS PISS A "POTTYMOUTH" WORD, LOL.

It's not, to the vast majority of people.

I was pretty annoyed when Jiko changed their menu to not have the beef with potato and tamarind sauce, and replaced it with mac & cheese. so I just asked for it the last time I went and they made it.

Soooo....I would seriously just try asking when you go for what you want. They might be able to make it for you. I've been to Jiko several times since they took the steak w/ tamarind sauce off the menu. And every time they made the steak the way I liked it and switched out the mac & cheese (which I will never understand, sorry) with some form of potato.

Now my day has been ruined and I am not nearly as excited about our upcoming trip. I am one of the pickiest eaters ever and this is just a disappointment about Le Celliers. :sad2: I look forward to the filet every year and now that it is gone this will not be the same for me. I wonder if I could get the other fillet with out the icky mushroom junk on it... I sure hope so cause if not I am going to have to watch everyone else at my table eat.

I am so bummed about this portion of my trip...

You know Concourse is closing, right?

The menu could change again by the time you are going on vacation. A few of the restaurant menus changed right before our end of September trip last year. The only thing disappointing was that I had been deciding what I would order for 180 days, then I only had minutes. :rotfl:

Of course you can get the filet without the mushrooms! You can even get the mashed potatoes!! The steaks are not pre-made. They are made to order. Rest assured!! :)

Thank you Stellablue!!! You just brightened my day!!! :worship: *is now excited once again about her fillet at Le Cellier's*

Disney is extremely accomadating to picky eaters. Just tell the waiter you do not want the mushroom and they should be able to do it without it. The chef might be a little :snooty: but generally they will make it how you request.

Again, I was CRUSHED when they "toned down" the menu at Jiko to "vanilla-ize" it as someone else said. But when I requested the sauce they originally prepared the beef with, they were happy to make it that way. As long as it can be made with stuff they have, they are almost always willing to please the guest.

I do think it's a shame that the menus seem to be less exotic at some places now. :sad2:

That may be due to the picky eaters like myself. Sorry if I am the cause of that. But thank you for reassuring me that I will still enjoy my reservation because canceling was not an option... I love their desserts!!! *yummie*

I don't think it's because of picky eaters. I am a very picky eater. I like exotic foods but some "normal" foods...no way. I'll eat all manner of bizarre middle eastern foods, but something like a tuna sandwich = :scared1:

I think it's because there are a lot of people using the DDP and they are trying to cut back costs more than anything else.

I am fairly certain you could order the filet without the mushrooms. Personally, I like Jiko's filet better, so I'd recommend that. HTH!

We were La Cellier fans until we tried Kona Cafe for dinner, no competition, we haven't been back to La Cellier since.

i wasnt sure about this either but it was actually lovely!! our server brought out a small sample of the mac and cheese before i ordered, and i loved it. It was 4 different types of cheese, with a red wine sauce and it was so good. mmmm id love that right now

It was my 10 year old son that saw it and brought it to my attention...:rolleyes1

I don't know about the rest of you, but in our house that language is unacceptable. To each their own.

Thank you to the OP for changing the wording.;)

Sometimes when you are out in the world you hear things that might be different than what you do in your house but I was taught that it was impolite to point it out.

OP, vent away. I am still mourning the loss of chile rellenos at San Angel (wasn't on the menu but they'd make it for me) and that was something like 7 years ago! No, doesn't ruin my vacation but I really liked them!!!! :sad1:
