Now I am debating about the room I picked :-/

Since it will only be a 3 day cruise, do you think it would be worth it to get the room with the verandah?

We are going on a 3 night next week and I got an inside room. This is cruise number 8 for us and I am glad I saved the money on the room. Will use it for something else.

Our first cruise was a 3-day and we had an oceanview room. We were very happy with it. With only three nights, we barely spent any time in the room. If it were a longer cruise and/or had a lot of sea days, I'd be more likely to spring for the veranda.

You all are so awesome. I don't feel as bad as I was feeling about down grading to oceanview. I know for sure I will book a 7 day while I am on the ship with verandah.

First ever cruise? Nah. Give yourself something to dream of for the future cruise. Warning: Once you have the verandah ... you might not ever want to go back to oceanview or inside.
Strange thing is... we got an upgrade on our first cruise to a verandah. Once I saw how little I used it, we have only done a verandah a few times, mainly if someone cruised with us and instead of party of three, we had four.

Now my deluxe resorts at Disneyworld... have me spoiled and it is tough staying anywhere else. ;)

I may be an oddball though, LOL.......

We booked our 3 day cruise really late and at that point it was only a $200 difference between inside and verandah so we went with the verandah. Otherwise we usually just book an inside room!

Absolutely get a verandah if available to you. You won't regret it! One of the joys for us is sitting out on the verandah, in our PJ's with that first cup
of coffee, and enjoying the beautiful sunrise over the ocean. Nothing like it.

How much more expensive is it?

We were assigned a navigator's verandah on our first cruise. We loved it. Went for a 5E on our second cruise. I think we had the biggest verandah ever...

We loved it but we barely spent more than 20 min/day on the second cruise.

If you are going to get out of your room very early and come back late, it might not be worth it.

We're pondering our first 4 night, and opted for an inside room. I want to try and magical porthole at least once, and a 3-day/4 night seems the perfect time. For a 7-day, we always do a verandah though. I think you'll be fine with an inside room for such a short cruise.

My fave type of room so far has been the "one big porthole" room. We've had that, an inside, and two concierge category V with the verandah of course, but the big porthole is my fave.

For me, coffee on a lounge chair outside with the wind isn't comfy. Standing at the railing I bobbled my cup and nearly dropped it off the side of the ship. Embarrassing. And sitting there drinking wine in the evening, again, was windy, and I was sitting on a loungechair. Hardly luxurious. And it's windy if the ship is moving.

I'm cool with oceanview! :)

It's about 2 to 300 more

Wow really? Mine was a humongous difference. Does it become less if you book closer? Rates have been steadily going up on the cruise I booked for Novemeber. Between the time I took on deciding eastern or western, (3 weeks), it had already gone about @$400 per person for same category I was originally looking at.
We're doing a 5a on Deck 9 of the fantasy. I switched from 10 though after reading complaints about the overhang.lol

Yes! If I get an inside room and not Oceanview it would be a bigger difference.

I don't know what floor we will be on if I switch but I hope it's great lol

That may be worth it.. Depends if you like to relax in your room in morning and/or night, or if you're exhausted and just crash.lol. I like to have coffee on the balcony and start morning with continental breakfast in room. Then I'm ready to face crowded pools lol.bnovemeber '16 is my first Disney cruise. If it was shorter I don't know if I could have justified the verandah room prices. I've usually done RC in the past and their verandah rooms cost a tad less lol, but haven't been since my son was born. In June I will be on a 7 night Carnival that I won, not taking kiddo- although really I could care less about this cruise period. Shouldn't complain about a "free" cruise I know, but it wasn't something I planned and not a huge Carnival fan.

We cruised 15 nights straight and appreciated the window to get natural light and see out, but we were too busy doing things to use a veranda. It would have been a major waste of money. The only time we went out there on previous cruises was to get fresh air.

We first cruised with a verandah and booked on oceanview this time with the big porthole. We found that every time we opened the door to the verandah all the A/C went out the door and we were left with a stuffy cabin. It was July of course and pretty hot, but we never slept with it open or stood outside because it was so windy. The giant porthole gives you the same view without losing your cool comfortable A/C. Plus, you can always go up on deck if you want the wind in your hair.
