Super 8 Anaheim (one on Katella), and Best West Park Place Inn---any pros/ cons on either for a 6 night stay?
I know obviously the BWPPI is nicer, and I have read on another site their free breakfast is better. I just don't know if we can pass up the price for Super 8. So far all the reviews I have seen say it is very clean, which is very important to us.
Just trying to weigh out the differences between much cheaper rate, and decent breakfast and shorter walk (5 minutes versus 15 minutes). I know I am being really cheap, but we also want to spend 2 nights in San Diego, and the hotels there seem really high; so we want to be able to afford it.

I have no direct experience with either. But we had a HORRIBLE experience with a Super8 on the first part of our September trip, and that combined with how very far away the Katella Super8 was, as we drove past it, makes me shudder to think of staying there.

That said, if you have to do it, you have to do it!

Have you checked out HoJo? If you go directly to the Anaheim HJ's website and try the code SD50, it might give you a fabulous rate ($59 for a regular room, if the rate is available during your stay). IF you could get that rate for your days, to be eligible for it you'd need to buy the Entertainment Book (for your area, or the area including San Diego, or wherever...you don't need to buy the one for Orange County), so you can show the card when you check in. Then again, they don't have a breakfast. Then again, they are across the street from a decent and decently priced restaurant!

Good luck in your decision! We operate on a cash-only basis, and I know that sometimes you just can't do everything you want to do (which is why we stayed at the Super8 in Oregon one way, Travelodge in CA on the way up from DL, and Motel6 in OR again...to afford the Paradise Pier for 4 of our 6 nights, and HoJo's entertainment book rate the other two days).

Oh wait, speaking of that, I have actually heard good things about the Motel6 in Anaheim. Have you checked out their prices? I just hated the Super8 stay in Oregon....colored my view of their company forever.

Thanks for your suggestions. I tried calling a couple of hotels directly using my entertainment card, but the prices they gave were just the same as I can get on their regular website. I wondered about the Motel 6 also, so good to know someone has heard good things about them.

I haven't stayed at either place but I do know the BWPPI is directly across the street from the entrance to DLR which sure comes in handy after a long day at the park. We always stay right next door to BWPPI at Park Vue Inn. We've been staying there for the last 7 years and love it.

I havent stayed at the BWPPI or Super 8 but I have heard more great things about BWPPI then I have about Super 8, and another benefit like others have said is that its directly across the street from Disneyland.

I'll be able to find out in March :) Got a youth group reservation for Super 8 for 7-days. The staff have seemed nice through my communication. They have a sun deck for fireworks viewing if your not in the park or relaxing. So we'll see. :yay:

I stayed at the BWPPI in September. It was great. So close to the park. I took my niece and had a ground floor room. We even ate at IHOP where she ate for free after 4pm twice on our 4 night trip.

I think the $ is worth the shorter walking time and the nicer breakfast. I haven't stayed at the Motel 8, but if you have kids the shorter walk will make a big difference.
