this continous talking about terrorism in Paris makes me worry a lot :scared1:.
The *logic* part of me says it is safer to travel when alert is high than when its is low but the *worrying* part of me says *why now??* :sad2:

Please confort me, i'll be in Paris from Wed to Sun, most in town with a day break to DLRP and it will be pretty impossible to avoid metro, touristic places etc etc

You have nothing to worry about, at least no more than any other day of the year. In fact with the latest plans being stopped before they can get too far it's probably a very safe time to go, comparatively. Also, the latest plot was against Britain and Germany too, just Paris made the headlines because of the 2 recent car bomb alerts, both of which came to nothing.

You'll be fine, you'll have a magical time and then you'll come back and write a trippie about your fabulous holiday - deal?

Thanks Steve :goodvibes

As i said the logical part of me says what you say, i live in Italy and they keep telling almost everyday we are one of the countries in Al Queida's eyes and the risk is high and so on.

And to worry 24/7 will not make me safe anyway so will go and enjoy myself :thumbsup2

guilia - tbh i know exactly what ur saying, as it is worrying me a lil, espec as we are flying for the 1st time (1st time ever for our boys) and want it to be a fun time, not a stress!!

i know that it reality it is more safe now, but u do worry!! and i worry more with having the boys - i flew day after 9/11 and that was bad, but am more worried now!!

lets keep hold of the magic and be assured that everything shud be safe!!!:goodvibes

:hug:

You wouldn't be human if you didn't worry and I've noticed that the older I get the more I worry about things like this. Years ago the IRA bombed my home town yet we all carried on going to work as normal. The answer is to stay vigilant whilst carrying on as usual otherwise the terrorists have won.

::yes::

Is that a deal then, Giulia? :goodvibes

I have to admit that I'm feeling a little worried by all of this. The latest warnings are apparently one level below "no travel at all". :confused3

As Steve said in an earlier post though, this isn't specific to Paris but all of Europe: it's probably just as 'risky' in the UK, or any other European country.

I'm not unduly worried about this - mostly because, according to the BBC news website, since 16th September "France raises terror alert level to "reinforced red", one from top".

So this is not a brand new thing, its already been established for over 2 weeks in France.

Giulia, we live 10mins away from Central London and despite of the recent scare life is normal. The probability of being hit by a car is a lot higher than dying in a terrorist attack. You'll be fine :)
