Now Bring Me That Horizon ~ It Begins P115

Yeah!!! An ADR! :)

You created something...from nothing! :)

lol

Man, Coral Reef, that was one ADR that I was very excited about before our Wish Trip. We really wanted to eat there. I had it all planned out...how the divers were going to come down and wish Lauren a happy Wish Trip. But that was the day Lauren was so sick and we really did do nothing! So we missed it.

I am excited for ya!

And thanks for the bone...

I gave it to my dog, Muffin, actually. And it is bigger than she is! :rotfl2:

I knew there was a reason I liked this thread so much. :rolleyes1

:lmao: Alright, spill. When's your birthday?

There's popcorn all over the place. popcorn:: popcorn:: popcorn::
popcorn:: popcorn:: popcorn::

We could start selling it, you know. Throw on a couple of Pirates films, and nosh on some of DARuss' popcorn. ;)

I hear Fultons has some great seafood too at DTD.

Totally forgot about that. They have excellent seafood, but are definitely pricey. Worth it? Yes, but obviously I haven't been in a while. I know they don't participate in the dining plan, and since we've had free dining for the past several trips, that's probably why we passed on it.

Mmmm sounds good!

It's really making me hungry now. :lmao:

That's the beauty of being an artist. Creating something from nothing. ;)

All the more reason for you to go back. We'll just keep adding to the list.

1. Eat at Coral Reef
2. See Wishes

Oct 6. Now yours???

That sounds like a great idea for a DISmeet. We could get them to show a POC movie where the show the movies at night in front of the BC on the beach. :cool1: DW LOVES the POC movies. I don't think they are too bad either.

They are definitely pricey alright, I haven't been there. I'd like to try that ultimate platter tho. :worship:

Yeah, me too. :scared1:

I'm rather partial to the films myself. :lmao:

Read above as understatement of the year.

Love the ADR idea to return to the REEF!!! Can you still do menus and divers there, or did they nix that???? Just wondering...............

And since the topic of the POTC movies has come up, thought I should share my dear TK that after renting them last week and diving deeply into them........I'm in LOVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have so enjoyed watching these movies---so glad I got to see them back to back to back---must have stunk having to wait for them to come out separately at the theatres. Captain Jack Sparrow is DIVINE!!!! How I wish I could have traded places with Miss Swann for that kiss in 2, but alas, I would never have chained him to that ship to meet his doom!!! Just wanted to give you the update!

They did nix the menus and divers recently, but I'm still excited! :goodvibes

And WTH was Elizabeth THINKING???? :lmao:

You know TK, I was thinking I would like my own Captain Jack to have walking around the house, spouting one of his infamous convuluted monologues, swigging rum, with that perfect pirate smirk----just to look at!!! Ahhhhhhh......that would be blissful!

Sometimes, if I catch DH in the right mood...

well never mind. We want to keep this fit for the DIS boards. :lmao:

But Jasmine.

HA! :rotfl2:

To each their own, dear friend. To each their own. :thumbsup2

Hey if lovin' Captain Jack is wrong.......I don't wanna be right!!!!! ;) ;)

And for your heart's desire, you really must try the Princess dinner/lunch at Akershus sometime. We went there in June, and I am pretty sure my hubby was drooling the entire time Jasmine was at our table-----and it wasn't from the food!!!! Funny, he just kept talking to her and asking her questions and engaging her in conversation............I wonder why???? :rolleyes1

You don't even need to say it---------I know what your thinking!!!! Hee hee hee!!! :goodvibes

Welcome to the chapter containing the ADR that sparked the pirate princess verbal throwdown.

I know you're going to laugh at me when you hear what it is. But let's keep in mind some simple things, shall we? Mom and I can easily agree on signature restaurants. So when you're thinking of an ADR that we'd conflict on, you need not think fancy.

Not necessarily even good food.

More like atmosphere.

More like even though this is TK's birthday trip, I mostly plan our dining around one individual. And that's my dear little boy. Because if I'm going to sit down in a restaurant, I'd like to give ourselves the benefit of good atmosphere. Something distracting.

Something entertaining.

Something that will keep him in his seat, happily (hopefully) eating his food until we're ready to leave.

And that is why, despite the fact that I'm not enamored of the selection, and know there are other places we could go (Mom wants to go to France again and I said absolutely not, for details see upcoming posts in my December trip report) we will be dining at this particular little drive in.

Oh, yes, my friends.

On day three of our trip, I'm making an ADR for the Sci Fi Dine In Theater.

Picture this, if you will. Dim lighting. Seating in cars. A big ole movie screen playing all sorts of sci fi whatnot that's not too scary for the kiddos.

Oh, yeah, baby.

This one is all about my son. And this is what I fought for. Tooth and nail. I want him to see this place. To enjoy this atmosphere. And so on this, our third day, whether or not we start or end in DHS or Epcot, and some point we'll be eating at the Sci Fi. I'm thinking lunch would be nice, but haven't really finalized that part of the itinerary.

I just know we're eating here. And for all the reasons that I told my mother. I think DS will love sitting in a car to eat. That boy is all about the cars. I think he'll love the big movie screen. I know none of us is enamored by the food, but I don't care! I'm sure that every person in our party can find at least one thing on the menu that they'll like. Honestly. Just because we're spoiled :snooty: by Citrico's (and in Mom's case, Chefs de France) doesn't mean that we can't take one for the littlest member of this trip's team and eat in someplace that is fun.

Much like the Coral Reef ADR is not only because we love the food there, but because it's entertaining for DS, this ADR is more because it will be entertaining for DS.

And that is what we had a little throwdown about. Mom didn't want to go to either one of those. We talked about going to the Brown Derby again, which I do love, and she also wanted to go to France.

I don't.

I did. In December. It was enough. There are a lot of reasons, but that's why I put my foot down. This may be a family trip, but we are eating at very nice signature restaurant at the end of the trip. There are no plans on our arrival day. There are some open slots in the intinerary.

And so Mom acquiesced. So far. Although the other day she asked, well these are the only two reservations set it stone, right? :::sigh::: But, she said that perhaps (whenver Nana arrives) that they will make their own reservation in France.

And I was glad. It's selfish, but I was. I just have no desire to go there again (I bet you're all wondering why now, but it's just not enjoyable for me) and honestly, it's good for everyone if you break off every now and then. And that rarely, rarely happens on these trips.

In some ways, I'm nervous about it. I told my husband I was so spoiled by our September trip, just the three of us. We did what we wanted whenever we wanted. We changed plans. We moved ADRs. We were so, so free. It's not like that when you go with that many people. When you make those kind of ADRs, for odd numbers, and of a larger size, you're really committed to it. You have less options to throw things around and switch them up. Maybe that's what scares my Mom.

The horror of a "bad" meal. :upsidedow

And I CANNOT believe I'm about to say this, but sometimes, just sometimes, it's not all about the food.

I know, I know. Thirty lashes.

But it's not. Even though we stress and we plan and kevitch over ADRs and second guess ourselves, I can tell you one thing. If I don't try Sci Fi, I'll regret it. I think DS will be old enough (almost 4.5 by the time we go) and I think he'll love it.

And that, for me, is quite enough.

(I've got the Food and Wine Festival right around the corner if I leave hungry, anyway. ;) )

A mutiny on your other report and a throwdown here! :scared: But I so agree with you -- you have to stand up for what is best for you and HRH and when traveling in a group with varied interests you can't be together 24/7. At least not while retaining your sanity!

I think you'll love Sci Fi too. I haven't eaten there but it looks fun! I've heard that the burgers are really quite good!

I am a little surprised to hear you didn't like Chefs de France. I will have to stay tuned for that in your Dec report!

:rotfl2: I know. I've got all sorts of ******* going on!

Actually, I believe DH and I really enjoyed the burgers there when we dined there oh so long ago (on a trip by ourselves, prior to DS) but I think we just balked at the price.

Since the dining is free, that's not an issue. :thumbsup2

Oh, it's such a long and convoluted story. :lmao:

From what I've read about Sci-Fi....if you stick to the burgers and sandwiches it's pretty good. It probably better for seating if it's just the 4 of you eating there anyways, not the odd 7.

That's what I'm thinking. Which is why I'm leaning towards lunch, because I think there's more sandwich fare then. Actually, we'll be five. Myself, DH, DS, FIL, and Mom. I'm hoping they'll let us sit in a car, if we can put DS between me and Mom, I know we'll fit. I just don't know what the policy is.

Any ideas?

So I'm thinking...

and looking at menus...

and pondering.

And I may go back on my word.

On what I thought. But I'm not sure. I'll be conferring with the crew shortly and will let you all know if there's a change in the wind. pirate:

I'm leaving in two days and I'm on hold with dining as I'm typing this! :scared:

DH suddenly has an opinion. :sad2: :rotfl2:

No worries. That's what PTRs and the DIS are for! Rumination. Consternation. Discussion. Research. And change! It's all good! :goodvibes

YO.

Guess who's finally got her "TK's Next PTR" on.
That's right.
You know it.
TINK.
Miss me?

I'm not going to catch up on all of the chat, just your chappies. But I'm in for it all from here on out.

Without further ado (from way back when):

The truth is that I booked bounceback all the way back on my September trip. It's so funny to think that was only three months ago. I was reflecting on that with Tink this weekend. It seems like so much longer, savvy? Seems like I've known her forever, that we didn't "meet" for the first time at Citrico's three short months ago.

It's so, so true. And even then it seemed like we'd already known each other forever. Time is such a funny thing.

Don't worry. Eventually I'll type out the age I'm turning in 2009. I swear. At some point.

Don't you make me out you.

::coughagaincough::

Well, at least he has an opinion. That can be a good thing, right?

Right?? :upsidedow

It's a blessing...and a curse. :lmao:
