Can't decide between going in November (before Thanksgiving) or in December (before Christmas). Below are the quotes I got from AAA for the package which includes the hotel, passes & meal plan:

November = $1,418.51
December = $1,190.07

When would you go and why??

Definitely go in December before Christmas! We were there the second week of December in 2003 and besides the fact that we waited in NO LINES for any of the rides, the Christmas decorations are absolutely breath taking!!!!! They do not complete putting all the Christmas decorations up until Thanksgiving, so you will miss them if you go prior. We are hoping to go back this year at the same time! Plus...it looks like your quote was cheaper for December too, that would completely make my decision for me!

I had to choose middle of December ... we are going Dec 10-18 2006!
First time ever for my parents!

We went December 3-11th last year and it was the best trip we ever had! :wizard: The weather was great and the decorations were breathtaking. The festive holiday atmosphere really added to the magic of Disney! :sunny:

Good luck with your decision! :flower:

We went the week after Thanksgiving 2003 and it was wonderful! Very low crowds, Christmas decorations are beautiful, and we thought the weather was great. No rain, chilly at night, but warm enough most days to take a swim. Don't forget about MVMCP!

I've been to WDW in Nov and Dec and both are great times to visit. Lines are not that long and the weather is not bad. To me it was cold since I was living in Florida at the time, but for you coming from MA it will probably feel warm! I remember seeing people walking around in shorts and I had jeans and a shirt and a fleece on. BURRRRR!!!

I would go with Dec. It's cheaper which means more money to buy WDW gear.

Definitely December if you can swing it. Less Expensive, less crowds, Christmas Decorations and events, what more could you ask for.

Our last family trip was in November and it was pretty much spectacular ... good weather, fairly light crowds, etc.

However, I'd like my family to have the whole holiday WDW experience so we are going Dec. 5-11 this year.

About the temps ... we have also gone in early Feb. I laughed at the post from the person living in FL who wore a fleece while others were in shorts. We're from the Chicago area and on that Feb. trip, we thought nothing about wearing shorts & light jackets. Our FL friends were, however, in jeans and sweatshirts.

I am counting on the the early December weather being better than whatever we have it home regardless. And ... it's WDW at Christmas .... so who cares?

After reading your comments, Have decided to go with the week in December prior to Christmas. The flights are cheaper and I expect the parks to be less crowded.

I agree about the weather. 60 degrees in Florida :sunny: is alot warmer than 20 in New England!! :cold:

Thanks again!!!

Just found out that the weekend I arrive is the last weekend of the Pop Warner & Cheering competitions. Although I'm staying at the Movies, not too worried, as those crowds are only there until Saturday.

When exactly are you going in December?- We are planning that first part & I'd love to avoid the cheerleaders- Just wondering!

Thanks

We chose the same week to go this year that we went in 2003. So, I voted that you should come with us! We will be there from the 11th through the 17th. Maggie

This is what is on Disney's website:

Disney's Wide World of Sports® Complex will host the Pop Warner Super Bowl and National Cheer and Dance Championships from December 4 - 10, 2005. In its 76th year, Pop Warner Little Scholars is the largest youth football, cheer and dance organization in the United States, consisting of 360,000 young people ranging from ages 5 - 16 years old.

I say go for the holidays but try to avoid the Thanksgiving overflow crowds! :sunny:
