We just booked our 2010 trip for November 7-14. :woohoo: Anyone have any pros and cons to share for this particular week? Will we be in the middle of the Jersey Week crowd? And what about weather? We're from the frozen north and hate the heat & humidity but don't want to freeze either. How should we pack? Any and all tips would be greatly appreciated. :)

Actually I think this will be a great week. Crowds wont be to big as it is pre holiday. Temperature will be goo also not too hot but still warm. You should have a great time at Disney during this window.

Do bring a couple of warmer items - we were there Nov. 12 this past year and it was bitterly cold (temps in the 30's) - cold lasted about 2 days.
I have learned to always pack for all temps when we go to Florida after a Nov. cold spell caught me by suprise a few years ago. Even if it is warm during the day, the evening can get quite cool.

Thank you both for your replys. We drive so I usually pack a few items for cooler weather. In 2006 we went the first week of december and froze at night. So good to know the crowds sound like they will be easy to manage. Maybe we have finally picked a perfect week! :yay: Thanks again.

Jersey Week is usually the first week of November... we'll be there 11/1 - 11/6.

You might get a slight uptick with Veteran's day, but probably not much.

I was worrying a bit about VD but I don't think that should hurt too much. I did see on the DVC Boards that Food & Wine will still be going on during our week so that should up the crowds some I'd think. Oh well. We do love F&W so it'll be nice doing that again. Thanks again everyone. :)
Have a great trip justwinnie!

I've been weighing the pros & cons of going during November or December too. A couple of factors gleaned from other DIS'ers:

1. Castle lights are up by the date of the 1st MVMCP, usually around Nov. 10 (yay!)

2. November is not considered "value" season, but early December weeks are (for Disney resort prices)

3. Similarly, airfares are more expensive right around Thanksgiving, if you are planning to arrive or depart near one of those two weekends

4. Early December considerations are Pop Warner and Christmas parade tapings

5. November considerations (as pointed out above) are Jersey Week people (my DH is a Jersey boy so he would feel right at home...) and VD holiday

Does this help? ;)

Hi, just read this thread and I am extremely worried. I made ressies fir NOV1- Nov7 and I am wondering what Jersey Week Is? Is it a mistake to book this week? Thanks for any help.. Morgana

We're going first part of Nov. as well so hoping it's not too crowded. Although it seems like there is always something going on and with the promotions and specials Disney is offering there will probably be crowds no matter what time period I pick.

Don't be worried! Jersey Week won't be like Jersey Shore (MTV show)!

NJ has an annual statewide teachers convention on Thursday/Friday during the first week of November. When coupled with school closings for election day, many from the state go on vacation that week. Some schools are off the whole week, others are just off for a few days.

The park overall is not very busy. It just seems like everyone is from NJ when you're there. Many of the rides were walk on (BTMRR, Splash Mtn, EE) and short waits for others.

It's still lowish attendance and the weather is comfortable (80s this year, but colder other years).

Go and have fun!

Don't worry, Jersey week is a great week to go. We are from Indiana and have been twice in the past and the weather was great, the crowds were low, and we had a great time. the only thing we noticed was EVERYONE except us was from New Jersey!!!! We just had to keep in mind that people from the Northeast are little more direct and "insistant" (not rude, just more demanding than us midwesterners!) so it was almost like being in the northeast and a bit of culture shock, but nothing that was bothersome, just different. Though my husband has declared that New Jersey accents are the most annoying in the world to him! :rotfl:

being from NJ, we always vacation the first two week in Nov. Usually 1 week on the outside at timeshare then 1 week in Disney. Last year we did 2 full weeks in Disney, the first week definately busier than the second, not unbearable but noticably different. Epcot after the food and wine was so quiet during the day we took advantage of that. Weather wise absolutely beautiful warm enough to swim most days and some days and nights jackets needed.

We went from 11/16-11/22. The weather was great all week! Temps were in the 70-80's then 65-70 at night. You can check out trends before you pack on the weatherchannel.com. We went on a Disney Cruise that week too so we had a sweatshirt or light coat packed for the nights but really never needed it.
