I'm not sure what has been going on with November dining reservations. I am heading down to WDW on November 14th thru November 20th. My booking window opened this morning, and my group is average size of 5 to 4 people.when I went online to book this morning, I was able to get harder to book reservation like Cinderella's royal table towards the end of my stay. However, slightly earlier in the day but still after the 180 day mark I found myself unable to get reservations at places like mama Melrose, scifi theater, San Angel Inn, or via Napoli. It is truly a mystery to me why these dining reservations are completely unavailable. What is also strange is they are unavailable at the 182 day or 183 day mark, but available a little bit later on like at 185 days. I don't understand what the lack of availability is about? I was unable to get BOG for any time during my trip for either lunch or dinner. I didn't necessarily expect it, but was somewhat surprised that it was entirely unavailable the entire time we are there. I was finally able to get Biergarten at Epcot, but that was after going back on and checking in later in the afternoon this site was glitchy and crashed several times after first opening. I was able to get a 5:45 p.m. reservation to Tusker house on our first day, which surprised me given the lack of availability on other days farther in the stay. ultimately, I am pretty happy with the reservations I obtained, although I have a few disappointments. I guess I am just surprised that certain restaurants in Epcot and Hollywood studios seems so difficult to get. The reservations I was able to obtain are Cinderella's royal table, Crystal Palace, 1900 Park fare, Ohana for breakfast, garden grill, the plaza, Tusker house, Biergarten, and Akershus.
although this isn't necessarily dining related, I was able to get an appointment for my two young daughters at the bibbidi bobbidi boutique at the Magic Kingdom on our last day at 10:40 a.m. I called as soon as the phone lines open, and was on hold for over an hour! I was hoping to get an 8 a.m. reservation, the 1040 was the earliest that I could get. Again, I was just surprised. It is supposed to be only a two or three crowds of all that day, and Magic Kingdom is the most recommended park.
I wanted to share with everybody my thoughts and observations, since this has been a topic on the boards. Overall, I thought the week before Thanksgiving was supposed to be lower crowds, but I'm beginning to wonder what is going on! I guess the dining plan, which is free for most of us during this time period, really impacts availability.
