November dining reservations?

I'm not sure what has been going on with November dining reservations. I am heading down to WDW on November 14th thru November 20th. My booking window opened this morning, and my group is average size of 5 to 4 people.when I went online to book this morning, I was able to get harder to book reservation like Cinderella's royal table towards the end of my stay. However, slightly earlier in the day but still after the 180 day mark I found myself unable to get reservations at places like mama Melrose, scifi theater, San Angel Inn, or via Napoli. It is truly a mystery to me why these dining reservations are completely unavailable. What is also strange is they are unavailable at the 182 day or 183 day mark, but available a little bit later on like at 185 days. I don't understand what the lack of availability is about? I was unable to get BOG for any time during my trip for either lunch or dinner. I didn't necessarily expect it, but was somewhat surprised that it was entirely unavailable the entire time we are there. I was finally able to get Biergarten at Epcot, but that was after going back on and checking in later in the afternoon this site was glitchy and crashed several times after first opening. I was able to get a 5:45 p.m. reservation to Tusker house on our first day, which surprised me given the lack of availability on other days farther in the stay. ultimately, I am pretty happy with the reservations I obtained, although I have a few disappointments. I guess I am just surprised that certain restaurants in Epcot and Hollywood studios seems so difficult to get. The reservations I was able to obtain are Cinderella's royal table, Crystal Palace, 1900 Park fare, Ohana for breakfast, garden grill, the plaza, Tusker house, Biergarten, and Akershus.

although this isn't necessarily dining related, I was able to get an appointment for my two young daughters at the bibbidi bobbidi boutique at the Magic Kingdom on our last day at 10:40 a.m. I called as soon as the phone lines open, and was on hold for over an hour! I was hoping to get an 8 a.m. reservation, the 1040 was the earliest that I could get. Again, I was just surprised. It is supposed to be only a two or three crowds of all that day, and Magic Kingdom is the most recommended park.

I wanted to share with everybody my thoughts and observations, since this has been a topic on the boards. Overall, I thought the week before Thanksgiving was supposed to be lower crowds, but I'm beginning to wonder what is going on! I guess the dining plan, which is free for most of us during this time period, really impacts availability.

I am having the same issue. I am trying to book dining for that same week and having very little success. They are showing zero availability for all of the restaurants in DHS on November 15. There is very little availability in Epcot on November 16 and MK on November 17. I don't get it...I just came back from a last minute trip and was able to book great options just two weeks prior. I know that mid-May is a slower time, but so is mid-November (or at least it used to be!). It must be the free dining...but to have everything totally sold out at the 180 window is crazy!

My window opens tomorrow - I'm going to try CRT on the 19th and see what happens - worried now about Mama Melrose!

I was wondering what was going on, I've been checking availability as I get near to my 180 day mark and I'm very concerned now that I wont' be able to get what I want at the times I want. The only thing that may help me is that I am going the week after Thanksgiving which is not part of free dining so I sure hope that helps me out! I'm very concerned too about the fact that the Wishes dessert party isn't showing up at all for November. I really, really want that one and do not want to have check back every single day.

I'm going the same dates as you are and had a similar experience. Very frustrating! I was able to get most of what I wanted, just at different times than I was planning.

Looks like right now for a party of 4, only time on 11/19 at CRT is a 2:30pm

I would suggest booking any must have reservations towards the end of your stay. overall, I had much more success booking things that I wanted at the end of my day, and found the beginning of my stay very limited.

I actually feel very bad for the people who were staying there during this time, and not on the free dining promotion. I would be so frustrated. I guess I feel a little bit more accepting of the process, since I have free dining and I suspect that it is a reason for some of the booking issues.

I guess I am surprised that everyone is surprised and more that that - frustrated. This is ADR reality during a free dining period and it is not new.
People do cancel, so keep checking

It surprises me because I went during free dining last fall and had absolutely no issue getting BoG and or anything else at my 180 mark. This seems extra difficult this time around.

We went during Free Dining and 2010 and 2012 (though we didn't know Free Dining existed at the time) and had no issues finding reservations either time.

We are going the same dates and having the same issues. I thought maybe I just missed out since I couldn't get on right at 6am. I did get the Mama Melrose's Fanatasmic! (on the 15th), Biergarten, Le Celliar, Tusker House (8:40am), Boma and BOG on the 20th (1035am). I hope the Wishes dessert party opens soon too! I guess I'll be anxiously checking everyday until it opens.
We went 2 years ago with free dining and had a party of 8 at times and had no issues booking. We only have 2 this time and are having more issues.

I suspect Disney is not releasing many ADRs at the 180 day mark. For our July trip, a big group of ressies for BOG opened about 3 weeks ago.

I am not sure why Disney would do this, but I have been following several of the dining reservation threads and it seems to be a trend that someone will post "A number of ressies just opened for dates in August and September" and "lots of ressies opened up this morning for BOG!"

I advise that you follow the thread about November dining cancellations. You will surely see some updates when ressies are available.

Not sure that I agree. I went during free dining the last two years in September, and have no problem getting what I wanted, including CRT and BOG for dinner.

why do you think they would do this? It seems to undermine the benefit of staying on site completely.

I really have no idea, but it seems to be happening a lot lately. I know I was up at 5:45 am on my 180 + 5 and still could not get all of what I wanted. No BOG dinner all week. (I have since been able to get a BOG dinner for that week by following the September dining reservations cancellations thread and seeing that some ressies did open up after my 180 day window.)

I have seen lots of posts about issues with little to no availability for November ADRs, so maybe that is just a system glitch.

We have gone the last 3 years with free dining and I have never had problems getting anything BOG, Mama Melrose fantasmic, CRT, Hollywood and Vine and Tusker House pre-park opening. Our window opens this Saturday and I am getting worried!

I read somewhere else that Epcot restaurants are holding out for official dates for Candlelight Processional to be announced.
I've noticed a lot of places in Epcot popping up since yesterday when I booked, though.
